Theyre in the Ulster football final against Down in 2 weeks. Theyre out of the hurling as far as I know.

 Sweet! I may well stream that. It'll be a good opportunity to explain why me having a Donegal shirt hanging from my bedroom wall is acceptable

This Draw is very favourable is Dublin play 70mins of ANY GAME! :x

Having Kerry, Cork & Donegal on other side of draw is brilliant.

If Dublin do get to final, im actually in the states and havent a hope of getting to see it, I also miss the Manu V Liverpool game too. :fp:

Five minutes out and 6 point lead...and still Donegal seem to want to let Kerry back in :fp:

PostRe: GAA Thread-Its a Mayo-Donegal football final

Anyone watch the match yesterday?
I don't think any of the experts were predicting a Mayo win so it has to be counted as a massive upset for them to beat Dublin the way they did. Gilroy strawberry floated up by bringing on Alan Brogan when he plainly wasn't fit but its hard to argue that decision cost them the game yesterday. Mayo simply wanted it more and showed great character to close it out in the end when it looked like the game was starting to go away from them.

I think Ger Canning was more disappointed than the Dublin supporters at the final whistle though. :slol:

Ya I watched it, before the match I thought Mayo had good scoring forwards and would create problems for the Dublin defence, which is exactly what happened, I just didn't think they would get so far ahead so quickly. I agree with you on Mayo, they really wanted it more, almost strawberry floated it up leaving Dublin get a few un answered scores but saw it through in the end.

One thing I'll say about Dublin yesterday, they were lucky to finish with 15 on the field. They seemed to go back to being dirty bastards when things were not going well for em, that number 17 (don't know his name) broke the corner forwards nose and didn't get anything! Dirty jackeen bastards.

As Brolly said yesterday, Donegal were the big winners yesterday, they would defo want Mayo over Dublin in the final.

Well that was tense at least. I thought Galway had lost it when Canning missed that free late on but then he went and scored a much harder one two minutes later.

I'm surprised we have to wait 3 weeks for the replay as I remember drawn football finals being played a week later. Gives me something to look forward though for the end of the month though.

Well done Donegal, you've done the county proud. Hopefully it won't be as long a wait next time . . . .

Good performance by Donegal yesterday. They got the perfect start and Mayo were never really able to get close enough to put real pressure on after that.

Exactly. By watching them play yesterday you'd find it hard to believe that was only their SECOND all-ireland win
