Well done to the Tipp minors on a great win yesterday.

Dublin seniors did well also and the likes of Cluxton really earned their victory. Ger Brennan is a strawberry floating knacker though. Cowardly act to raise your elbow like that when a player is falling.

If you watch it in real time he couldnt have meant it to connect that good (or bad) with the kerry player.

Typical, though, back handed praise to Dublin by picking out the one bad thing they did. :fp:

EDIT: Also the Tipp minors where clapped off the pitch by the hill. 8-)

strawberry floating sick of the media hype around Dublin already, fair play and all that but if it keeps going the way it is all the neutrals will be against them again.

If you watch it on the slow mo you can quite obviously see that he deliberately rose his elbow when he saw the guy falling into him. The analysis in the aftermath of the GAA finals is pretty worthless as its nothing but backslapping for the victors so it didn't really get mentioned. The same can be said about Tommy Walsh during the hurling final. In the incident where the ref was hurt Walsh had flung his hurley at someone but got away with it. He should have seen red for it.

Look Dublin earned their win yesterday and were the most consistent team all year apart from Galway who were consistently awful in new and horrifying ways. They played the blanket defence but unlike Donegal they were still able to play football when they got the chance and the fact the Brogans weren't great yesterday and they still won shows just how much they have improved over the one man show they were last year.

A nice start to the summer made even better as it won me a few quid and a load of people were tipping Roscommon.

Holy crap. I'm struggling to believe that I've just seen Galway beat Kilkenny in a Leinster final with so much to spare. Canning was unreal today.

I'd hate to be the team Kilkenny play next though as Kilkenny will give them an unmerciful hiding.

The one weekend I dont watch anything and something like this happens. Great win for Galway though, hopefully they can push on from here and be a contender, always good to have more teams in the mix.

I HATE Kilkenny, they should be forced to have a Football team also. The fans dont travel to anything unless its an all ireland final! :fp: So fair play Galway.

Anyone else shocked at the poor turnout for the Munster Final yesterday?

Dublin have a hard enough game against Meath in 2 weeks, ill be at it as usual. 8-)

I'd tip a Cork v Dublin football Final. :shifty:

They have a football team, theyre epically gooseberry fool, can barely scrape 15 lads to play a match. A half decent club side would hammer them. In defense of the fans they dont travel because theyre constantly getting dragged to play in Croker, same thing happens Kerry and Cork, soon as the Munster championship is over its off to play in Dublin. Big ask for people to fork over €70+ every time to see their team play. Might as well wait until the final if theres a decent chance theyll make it there.

Photek wrote:Anyone else shocked at the poor turnout for the Munster Final yesterday?

Nope, noone wants to see Cork and Clare play a football match of little to no consequence.

Hard to argue against that really, unless Kerry bother their ass to show up for a couple of matches.

If the support isn't there from a county board then any team will suffer. Just look at the Laois hurlers this year. Tipperary football is the opposite of that. The board made a commitment and now they are after winning two Munster minor titles in a row and the All-Ireland last year.

Donegal are looking really good for a tilt at the All-Ireland this year. They are still solid at the back but look better going forward and Murphy is a goddamned beast of a player.

The GAA need to do more to incentivise people to go to more matches. At the moment there isn't any sort of loyalty scheme in place for people who support the team all the way. My father stopped going to Galway matches after 2001 when he wasn't able to get a ticket for the final despite going to all the league games and championship games up to the point. They need to reward people who go to matches by either offering them a discount on subsequent matches or by guaranteeing them tickets to the next game. I believe tickets to the Munster final yesterday were also €30/35 yesterday which is ridiculous.

Im surprised they dont push a season ticket more, especially with most teams guaranteed a couple of Championship matches now. Entry to all league matches, the first two championship matches and first refusal on tickets to all other championship games your county play in. It might actually get people to go to a couple of league games as well as push up attendance in early rounds of the championship while rewarding the "real" fans with a guaranteed ticket to all matches at the business end of proceedings.

I had a go at Gaelic Football today, was pretty fun. Will probably clash with too much other stuff, but I'll give it a crack. I really need to join some sort of team sport.

How are the Donegal teams doing recently? I'm completely out of the loop.
