Shame for Mbappe.

I guess Messi is officially the best player ever now.

Felt like Lloris could have saved the first three, they weren't particularly special.

His penalty record is terrible. He's conceded 94 and 17 have been missed against him (not including shootouts). Martinez is 23 v 10.

He should have got a couple of them. Martinez would have.

A couple of those young French players look phenomenal. Mbappe being only 24 is nuts. They'll get another WC before he's done no doubt so probably best they didn't win today.

I said England could beat Argentina after the Holland game but seeing that final, no chance. When I said France didn't get out of second gear against us this proved it as well, they slept for a lot of the match but they were amazing when they woke up. Think England are a long way from winning a tournament.

Time for adventure

Macron’s face, while also having to walk behind and now stand with all these terrible people. Marvellous.

I got a lot of criticism in the past for suggesting Messi needed to win the big one to be called the greatest ever, but now that its happened its really more apparent that I was right to think that. No question, no debate now - he stands alone. Kind of incredible.

Ronaldo has won the Euros, Messi has never even qualified for it.
