Right. So, apart from Safari, where was your talk of Apps?

Glad to see this thread finally picking up some steam.
I will rename the thread title to include the iPhone as well.

A good little piece of software to find album art is iArt. It found album covers for almost 94% of my music. You can set it to search Google Images or Amazon.
As for Apps, installed Last.fm (very good indeed), Auroura Feint is fantastic for a free game and Sol Free is OK.

Lets keep this thread alive people.

Jnr, you can create user ringtones for the iPhone; for a couple of quid if you want to play nice with Apple or for free if you exploit an extremely simple filename changing method. Google or YouTube "free iPhone ringtones."

OMG. Slitherlink on iPhone, and it only costs 59p. It's called Loopymaniak. There's a version of Picross for the same price, as well as load of copies of other Nikoli puzzle games.

Also, highly rated puzzle game Enigmo is at a sale price of 40% off, for the next couple of days.

Those prices are ridiculous. I'm tempted to get an iPhone but there will no doubt be a newer version released withing months.

Well it took Apple a whole year to release its second iPhone - how often do you see Nokia releasing a new model? Every 2 weeks?

Sorry buy your argument is gooseberry fool.

The newer higher capacity iPod Touch was announce and released so soon after the original Touch which pissed me off. And the 3G iPhone should have been the one that was released in the first place. Also, the amount of features missing from the iPhone that an ordinary phone can do is daft and I wouldn't be surprised if a new iPhone with more features is announced within months.

Nokia get away so many models because they are primarily a phone company.

iPhone 3G PAYG is pretty steep, while not as high as some predicted which were £370 - 8GB £470 - 16GB.

I bet O2 will end up lowering the price within weeks of releasing on PAYG.

I could really do with a new iPod and a new phone.

But I can't see myself using the 'phone' part enough to justify the contract or the PAYG cost.

Plus I imagine there wouldn't be much room left on the iPhone after adding my 10GB iTunes library.

I'll probably wait and see what Apple do with the Touch in the next few months.

But it's not like when the new iPod touch comes out your old one explodes or anything. You're still getting to use what you paid for.

Yeah the space would worry me along with the battery life and the fact that the battery is internal.

The only features I can think of missing from mine are: MMS (which no-one uses anyway), Video Recording (At crappy quality as with all phones) and a half-decent camera.

I keep a pretty broad spectrum of apps on mine (3 screens full so far) and would recommend the following:

Picoli+Scribble: For photo editing and doodling

Comic Touch: Comic Life, but for the iphone. Its rather amusing adding effects and speech bubbles to random pictures of mates down the pub.

Monkey Ball, MotoChaser, TapTap, Gaia, Aurora Feint, Air Hockey, aMaze, Chopper and Cube Runner: All great games

Stanza: An e-book reader with a huge library of FREE downloadable titles.

MotionX Dice and Ruler+: I use these primarily for wargaming. Its very useful being able to keep pdf versions of all the rulebooks and a wad of dice in your phone!

Readdle Docs: the only document reader for the iphone gives you 512Mb of Webspace to upload docs from your computer and then download them via the app for reading and reference later.

iDrum (Club Edition): Its a drum machine on your phone. Create your own loops, save them and even use them as ringtones. I upload mine into garageband for my own tracks.

Pianist: Its a frikkin' piano! Again, record loops or just jam.

Virtual Deck: Basically a Virtual Dubplate, so load up a loop/soundbite, plug iphone into mixer and then cue and play. Includes full pitch and 33/45 control. Very useful for DJing.

Photoswap: This is great: take a photo, and then get it randomly swapped for one someone else took on the other side of the world. Its free and you never know what you'll get.

Looks like Apple is holding an iPod event in a week's time.

Could be interesting.

Just installing this, after seeing your post. Sounds like a nice idea.
