If they are anything like most other operators, then you won't have to pay if you're outside your minimum contract period.

Anyone using an iPhone with that giffgaff network? Getting pissed off with O2 now. My contract is up so I planned on getting a cheap £10 contract with 100 minutes and unlimited texts (which is more than sufficient), but wanted to get a bolt on for 1Gb internet which is enough for my needs. One month ago this existed, now they get rid of all the options and you're forced into mega expensive contracts to get anything more than 500Mb. strawberry floating rip off.
Anyway, anyone using giffgaff on an iPhone? Any idea what it's like with tethering?

That doesn't bode well as I'm looking to reduce my iphone contract when it runs out in 6 months with O2 to less money but maintaining the internet capacity.

Do O2 still do the cheeky thing of not including data prices when it shows you the monthly fee for contract phones?

I've not had a problem with O2 re: data usage. I have a very high allowance and on the odd occasion I have gone near the limit, I get an automated text warning me that I'm at 80% of my usage before I start getting charged extra.

Me too, sometimes I just about go over, which is why I thought I'd go for 1Gb which would be more than enough. But now you can't get anywhere near a reasonable tariff with 1Gb.
Actually, once I hit my allowance they stop any data being downloaded. So I can't go over.

I think so.

Tesco runs on O2's network. Their SIM only price is £12.50 for 500 mins, 5000 texts and 1GB.

Might look into that.
