Has anybody seen what has happened to good old Gamesradar in the last few days? Since we all left it has pretty much died a very painful death. All the sub-forums are almost empty of activity and the posts there have been are like a very bad immitation of what the place used to be like.

I know this place is everything that GR was, but I still feel sad that the old country has turned out this way. Damn you Future!

It wouldn't surprise me if the top bods at Future see how dead it is now, and either presume that we've all moved to RadarNation, or that GR wasn't worth saving in the first place.

Out on the road today,
I saw a deadhead sticker on a cadillac,
A little voice inside my head said
"Dont look back, you can never look back..."

Dan/Cal, I think you both sum up what has happened to GR perfectly!

Such a shame, Future had a good thing going there. Quite why they dropped such a strong community in favour of the weaker US side is beyond me.

Don't get me wrong, I love this place as much as anyone else here. I just feel sad about what happened to our old home. :(

There is so much history with the old fourm, it's going to be hard for anything to replace it 100%.

With all of your help, this forum can be better than GR ever was.

It's sad to see the old girl suffer like this but I'm sure when Future switch the ventilator off she can RIP in peace in pieces.

Used to lurk on there, posted once or twice, but was generally un-noticed.

I think I probably quite like GRcade though. I may even lift my Off Topic embargo... golly aren't you lucky?

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

That forum, is coming like a ghost town
All the boards have been closed down
That place, is coming like a ghost town
Noobs won't play no more
too much fighting on the GGC floor

Do you remember the good old days
Before the ghost town?
We danced and sang,
And the music played inna de boomtown

That forum, is coming like a ghost town
Why must the youth fight against themselves?
Future's leaving the youth on the shelf
That place, is coming like a ghost town
No posts to be found in this country
Can't go on no more
The people getting angry

That forum, is coming like a ghost town
That forum, is coming like a ghost town
That forum, is coming like a ghost town
That forum, is coming like a ghost town

I feel sad about it too. But I'm glad that the place has become a graveyard so quickly. You reap what you sow, and all that, and we've sent a very strong message not only to Future but ourselves, that we're worthy of a lot more respect than they were prepared to show us.

It's up to all of us to transplant the GR community feel over to here, and so far we've all done a grand job IMO. Indeed, as it's a reboot, we can start as we mean to go on by hopefully going back to the feel of the glory days of GR, rather than the lesser experience of the past year or so.

You should be very proud of yourselves Eight, and of course the rest of the team. I can't think of another community that has survived like ours and migrated in mass in such a short amount of time. It is staggering to think that it hasn't even been a week since the announcement and these forums are as strong as Gamesradar ever was.

The fact that Gamesradar is all but dead and almost everybody has moved over is a testament to the work you guys did, and the strength of the community. Bravo to all.

Gamesradar, RIP in peace.

I think it is sad, but it shows how strong the community was that we've brought almost everyone with us all in one go, it really is quite something.

Think it took GR closing to realise what a strong community that was there

Now all the the debates, topics and contributions are top notch

Indeed. It's a shame GR had to go down in the way it has done, but this place is looking to be a more than adequate replacement. I'm sure we'll all be very happy here.
