Anything to do with games at all.

Because I have an addiction about getting games at release and "collecting" things  :fp: .

But why collect games you've never played, and have no intention of? Pick a series to collect and stick to it. Perhaps even play some of them

I'm a curator at heart, Hypes. I'm the kind of weird person that enjoys looking over a collection of stuff, checking it out for condition and complete-ness. Probably (or, rather, definitely) more so than actually playing the games :) .

I am actually thinking about doing this. I kinda was cutting back and I had no intention of getting a Switch as I know I would end up buying too much stuff for it... which I have. At least I'm down to two "current" systems now (PS4 and Switch) rather than last gen when I had 360, PS3 and Wii (and DS / 3DS) :dread: .

I have a thing where I like to buy lots of games I normally wouldn't play or that have reviewed none to well just to see if I'd personally like them or not. The only thing that keeps the cost down is I buy said games from previous generations.

I absolutely get this, I've accumulated entire series' of games I've barely played just for completion sakes - Fortunately I usually only do this with games that are relatively cheap (Things like some of the PS3 series', Motorstorm, Ratchet & Clank etc.) and I'm well aware that it is a waste of money (and despite being cheap it all adds up) but I like having the collection, having a full set etc. It's weird but it works for me!

Until getting my Switch last year I've been almost exclusively gaming on PC for the last 8 or 9 years (I gave up on the 360 sometime around 2010) and pretty much everything I bought was through Steam or GOG. Downloading games over a 2-3Mb connection was never a recipe for success with most decent sized games taking at least 12 hours to download, as a result I would only ever persevere for the games I was really desperate to play and leaving a whole load of stuff on my account which I just haven't had the time to download.

I'm hoping that now I can turn on my PC of an evening and actually download and play a new game in the same sitting that I might actually stand a chance of whittling down my backlog!
Alternative "B": "Now games only take an hour to download, think I'll buy that and give it a try".

Haha, yeah there is certainly the risk of that happening. I'm going to try and stay strong though!

Destiny 2 is about £11 on Boomerang (2nd hand). This is a game I want but must be strong!

Add in the cost of the almost mandatory expansions and it'll be less appealing.

If after the 50+ hours of vanilla Destiny 2 you find you want more it could be appealing.

Alternatively you could fight the man and spend that £40 on more games you wont play.

Decided not to get Shadow of The Colossus (I have the PS3 version; I wouldn't play it right away anyhow; and I'll wait for a price drop) or Dynasty Warriors 9 (I've got DW8 and DW8 Empires to play already; I'll wait for a price drop).

Oh, yeah, baby, in 2018 I'm walking the walk when it comes to not buying games for the sake of it. I do have Bayonetta Double Pack pre-ordered but I think I'd regret it if I cancelled that.

Anyhow, I'm starting to enjoy this :datass: .

Unfortunately I have purchased a game. In my defence, at £6 in Tesco, I can't see No Man's Sky being cheaper.
