I really don't like watching showjumping because they never seem to give enough credit to the horses when they win. I also don't think it should be in the Olympics.

Rugby. Too many bad memories of being forced to play it at school before my growth spurt, flung around like a rag doll. And all under the watchful gaze of our sadistic PE teacher. A Scottish PE teacher. In the 80s. *rocks gently*

Debates like this are pointless. People tend not to like sports they don't understand. Simply watching F1 without any knowledge of the sport and support for a driver/team is bound to be a bit dull. I don't like rugby but then I don't really know the rules and don't care for any team.

I don't watch it because it's dull- not because i don't understand it. Weird thing is - i look out for the results and have my favourites. Just the races that are dull. Only qualifying and the beginning are any good.

I don't really watch any sport on TV beside football, and even then I don't enjoy watching it on a screen anywhere near as much as being at a game. You'll actually hear much more insightful stuff from the supposed neanderthals around you there than you'll hear from post of these TV pundits.

The sport I hate the most though is rugby. Living in Wales it's constantly forced down my throat. When the nationl team got to the last four of the world cup (which meant winning 3 games, only 1 against a half-decent side) there was a day of celebration, everyone wear red to work etc.

There was no option to play football in school either. It was rugby, or hockey, and the hockey choice was just there to embarrass people that didn't like rugby.

I dont like watching rugby, far too stop start for me. In my limited exposure to rugby I get the impression that there are rarely moments of magic that I see in football or golf, I get that its a tactical game and perhaps thats what people enjoy but it does nothing for me.

I had a Scottish rugby / PE teacher who was a sadistic bastard. Did everyone in the UK have a Scottish PE teacher?

Luckily I had my growth spurt early, which meant that all the smaller kids were too afraid of getting hurt to tackle me

Same, but the Welsh PE teacher I had was the best I ever had. He realised the bottom set of PE really wasn't all that good/fit/want to play massive amounts of athletics or contact sports so he always got us doing something we'd enjoy.

My Australian PE teacher however was a complete sadist. I really enjoyed Hocky but loads of people didn't so they complained so much that he gave us something else to do. It was pouring down with rain and our PE kit was a t-shirt and shorts at this point. It was cross country. We had to run around our schools massive field about 3 times before he'd let us finish when we were all gooseberry fool at running and I got such a bad case of a viral infection after I did that. Wanker. :x

Hockey is great fun to play. Shame most people wouldn't even consider trying it as they see it as a girl's sport.
