Winter is just shootout after shootout after knife fight (that bugs me too - Why doesn't she know how to make anything? They've been travelling together for *ages*). It's bland and monotonous and it goes on for far too long.

And honestly any survival game (limited ammo!) with multiple "defend this area" sections needs to reassess what it's doing in life.

Are you sure you're not confusing winter with the school?

You can literally sneak through 90% of the winter section. The school section forces direct combat on you.

Just started the spring section. That's more like it

Took some amazing selfies with the giraffe but they're not showing up in my browser at the moment. Stupid PS4 update :x It's all getting a bit emotional now. I know what's coming (mayyy have read the spoiler thread on here a while ago), but I'm still going to bawl like a baby.

That's literally right at the start of the winter section. And is about 5 minutes long...

Then there's another one, then there's a string of encounters with humans. I mean, they're all in there if you want to watch it. It's not an enjoyable section (none of the human combat is, really. The infected battles are a lot better)

I'll chime in on that one. I didn't find the combat with humans that much fun at all really.

In fact, I put the game down during one such encounter and never found the time to go back.

I have rebought it for the PS4 though so I will give it another chance. My PS3 playthrough was very stop-start too so I will try to play it more consistently this time.

This is an utter bastard on Grounded.

Just done the alone and foresaken bit where you climb the bus and go through the checkpoint and into the library. Got one shot/punch killed several times (once after nine silent strawberry floating kills) so i thought strawberry float it and sneaked through, ran, thew a smoke bomb at the guy at the exit and ran through to the end.

Cowardly and shameful but no ammo used and no health lost. Sometimes you just got to avoid combat. :shifty: :shifty:

Started this again on PS3 last week
Struggling with the controller though (having been used to XboxOne controllers) I'm all over the pork chop!

How did everyone feel about the ending?

I thought it was probably about right as Joel had effectively walked the line of good and bad and in the end made the best choice for himself, because the story was really about him

I thought the ending was good because
it wasn't a happy ending "the world is saved!" and was based on a human decision that basically made everything they had gone through pointless

On the subject of battles with humans, I far enjoyed this to fighting the infected. I was actually relieved when I first battled a human as I'd thought the whole game was going to be against infected.

Yes?

Perfect, and as much as I want more I really think they should leave it there.

Yes, I agree, however it doesn't mean they can't tell a different story with new characters...

Has there ever been concrete proof that is the case? I've always though it was just fan theory, getting a little carried away?
