And another rumour today of no new surface book. Hmm.

Edit, seems the track pad is pants and the pen has lag. Damn.

I'll give it a little bit of time, but a 15" inch laptop with an i7, 4k screen, dedicated graphics, pen included, 500GB SSD and looks nice is bloody tempting.

I got the laptop, typing on it right now. It's very, very nice. It's odd, as a laptop it feels like it's just regular sized, but rotate it around so it's like a tablet and use it for drawing and it feels strawberry floating huge, in a good way. Pen input is really responsive, palm rejection works great. Most applications work with a 4k screen right away, although one or two have a few issues with looking a little "fuzzy" like the upsacalling isn't working as intended, but certainly not a deal breaker. I had to configure the track pad a bit to my liking, such as scroll speed and making it so only actual "clicks" of the track pad count as a mouse click rather than just a press, but I'm happy with it now. HP software was instantly uninstalled, and was easy to do so. It uses windows hello which I needed to configure so that it works every time but now it's unobtrusive so fine. Not really done anything to put it through it's paces yet, just been setting it up and installing stuff mainly. That new electronics smell. :datass:

Windows update woes:

Just done a Windows update, restarted, and now it's hung on this screen:

40 mins and counting now. Most help articles talk about it hanging on the downloading screen. Anyone got any thoughts?

Happened to me and I ultimately had to hard reset. There isn't much else you can do.
