HWMonitor and Coretemp are both free and do the job nicely.

Hey kids. Massive noob question, but I've really tried and can't find the answer. How do I improve the look of the taskbar icons on Windows 10?

They currently look like this:

Which is just bleeeurgh. They look broken, especially that networking one.

I want to change them to something a little bit more... Windows 7. Any ideas?

only had a quick look as I am at work but this might help:

edit: it looks like you can turn the icons on or off or even choose which ones are shown, but you might not be able to change them in win10 directly

My PC hasn't been used for about 8-12 months due to changing furniture and redecorating., unfortunately the office isn't ready yet but I want to fire the old girl up to see how she runs.

I've got some compressed air to clean out the dust but just wondered if there is anything else that should be checked?

not really - just clean it out, check everythings connected properly and then see if it boots and posts.

I recently turned mine back on after about 18 months as it had been in storage (in original box so no worries about dust). Booted fine, although it hasn't offered me Windows 10 yet so I may have to do a forced update or something like that.

I still haven't upgraded to Win10 yet, I'm still reluctant but my PC is currently running like gooseberry fool so a fresh OS install is looking likely.

Need to get that SSD installed (I've had it nearly 3 years now and still not got it working).
