Yeah, antihistamines are fine for dogs. Worth checking the specific brand/ingredients online, but I use them when Nala gets skin irritations.

I didn't get a sticker :(

But I did get a t-shirt :)

Gave the meal worms a big chunk of carrot last night and it's gone already :dread:

Genki likes to play fetch with his favourite toy. He loves playing with straws and those twisty tie things that go round cables so I threaded a twisty tie through a straw and he strawberry floating loves it.

 Awesome. Didn't really know cats did that at all.

My dog has absolutely zero retrieval instinct whatsoever. If you throw something away, she assumes it's because you don't want it. :simper:

I have been getting 'puppy broody' again. Keep flicking through Nala's puppy pics.

This one was while we were trying to crate train her. She managed to get hold of the kitchen roll. I found her like this. She still denies she made that mess.

This one was when we took her to a just-for-fun ridgeback show. She was on her best behaviour for the judges (unlike the dog in the background)...

...and she won a prize!

My dog has 50% retrieval instinct, does the collecting bit but will never hand over what has been collected without a fight.

Yes?

It really is instinct, though - some just do it so naturally. I find it fascinating watching different dog breeds interact with each other. The body language, the way they play, the things they get possessive over, the way they deal with humans.

I just find it amazing how the different breeds can be so different behaviourally. (That may sound like a blazingly obvious point, I don't mean it to be.)

It's not even just with breeds, animals are individuals much like we are. I've never met for instance 2 different cats who have behaved exactly the same or acted the same and I've met a hell of a lot of cats throughout my life so far. Every cat is different much like I imagine every dog is different. It comes down in the long run to both nature and nurture, it's not all hard coded into the animal and even feral cats for example can be domesticated with enough hard work.

she was just really old, must have been around 21ish?

she hadn't been acting like herself for a while and was hiding in wierd places and was being sick all over the place so thought it best to not prolong any suffering.

poor cat :(

Any sign of her yet? Cats can go missing for days and return even after you've given up all hope. Ultimately, even if your cat doesn't like you, it'll know that you're a reliable source of food.

Mine once disappeared for a week and returned looking rather bedraggled and covered in cobwebs , one of the neighbours had found him in their shed.

another time he came back with slugs stuck in his fur.

Mine disappeared for about 3 weeks, after we took him in from a flood a bit before that. Idea is that sometimes go looking for x homes or just a shag, guess it's like a teenage holiday thing.
Then appear later as if nothing has happened. Cats aren't like dogs, they do whatever the strawberry float they want and come back when they're hungry.

Basically, you're your cat's bitch.

She strolled back in last night I was worried more due to her being an indoor cat.

Since we've moved out and got ourselves a house, the gf & I miss the dogs at my parent's house big time. We'd love a dog, but I don't think its fair to leave a dog alone from 9 til 6 every weekday.

I'm sure we'll be in a better situation at some point, but it seems too quiet :(
