The PlayStation Store Thread

jiggles' Ultimate Guide to PlayStation Plus

Cost
- Plus is £39.99 per year. You might find it cheaper if you shop around for a card.

Online Play
- Plus is required to play online on PS4.
- Online play on PS3 and Vita will remain free.
- Free-to-Play (F2P) games and subscription-based games (like MMOs) won't require Plus on PS4.

Discounts
- Anything you bought at a discount on Plus is yours to keep, regardless of whether you keep your subscription going or not.

Instant Game Collection
- You get 10 free PS3 games and 4 free Vita games to start.
- You "purchase" these as normal for no cost from the PS Store. This adds them to your account FOREVER. However, you can only play them if you have an active PS+ subscription.
- The free games rotate every so often. Usually, two PS3 games will be removed from the 10 available to purchase each month and replaced by two more.
- Games being removed from the Instant Game Collection offering DOES NOT remove them from your account.
- You can add the Vita titles to your account from PS3 if you don't yet own a Vita.

Renewal
- Account Management -> Transaction Management -> Services List on XMB to manage your auto-renewal settings.
- If you don't renew your subscription, you won't be able to start up any game you got for free until you renew again.
- Not renewing your subscription does NOT remove free games from your account.

Misc
- Plus also lets you set your PS3 to automatically download patches, firmware updates, and automatically sync your trophies.
- You can activate your plus account on up to 2 PS3s and up to 2 handhelds (PSP or Vita) at once.
- A single Plus subscription covers all platforms (PS3, PS4 and Vita)
- Plus subscriptions stack, so if you're worried it may get more expensive in future, you can stock up on years now.

Two questions

1. How much do most PS1 games cost and do they load quicker than off a disc?

2. Are downloadable PS2 games coming?

1. £3.49 (and are compatible with PSP if you didnt know although some have 2 player features missing). Load times are quicker on PS3 and PSP

Anyone got Driver?

Is it any good, i remember it being raved over back in the old days, for £3.49 surely you cannot go wrong though, expecially with psp play?

Might have to get it then, it probably wont be played on the ps3 though, gran turismo and others look utterly horrendous now, the ps2 games hold up suprisingly well though!

Yeah i bought some classics on ebay a while back and demoed them once and put them away, really they just do not hold up well, comparing gran turismo to gt5p is just embarassing now, but there are elements of the original that still better the sequels imo like the better tracks and just originality for its day, gt5p has not moved forward enough for me to be satisfied, but then it is really only a taster for what is hopefully to come, i do not like this gttv stuff though, please concentrate on the game polyphony!

Who is a fan of the PSN? I just think the new layout makes it even harder to find some things, such as new demos -

I'm a fan of the USA store, even though the layout is similar it just seems better categorised than the European store. Also there seems to be considerably more demos on the USA store (NHL 08 for example). All in all though its pretty nicely done.

If you haven't already, I urge you to download/buy Warhawk

I've been playing it mostly all day,

It's amazingly brilliant. :D
