Sony clarified this the other day - whole lot is changing (PSP is staying the same though).

Cool, I wonder if I'll actually be able to download stuff I've bought.

Downloaded Starhawk beta, the download took ages, the updates took ages and then the game was...meh. I wasn't the biggest Warhawk fan, but back when the PS3 didn't have a lot of online gaming options I put in a few hours. Starhawk however I can't ever see me playing again. Maybe the very small map didn't help, but I just found the whole affair bland and boring.

Oh, and then I downloaded the Gotham Imposters beta and, well that refused to let me connect. :fp:

On a more positive note, I picked up Infamous 2 and it's rather great.

I dont know whether I can be bothered with the hassle of creating a US account, and fancy just downloading them all to my PSP while they are still discounted.

Anyone care to help me out before I splurge on loads of PAL FF games on the PSN Store? They expire today, y'see.

Though, with my new 32GB memory stick, if someone could help me *cough* acquire them, then I would look into that.

Eh. AFAIK it's the old PAL vs NSTC issue where the PAL version is slower (which for a Final Fantasy game is probably academic) and has borders on the screen. If you really, really don't like borders than grab the US ones, otherwise I can't see the problem with grabbing the UK version.

Well, I will be playing on my PSP as well, if that makes any difference. Does the poor PAL conversion only affect the PSOne titles, or are FF I-VI affected as well?

I recall reading that the earlier FFs were ports from the PS1 compilations. So probably.

[Edit] 6 is the PS1 port, dunno about the rest.

Can you not just zoom in on the custom screen option on the PSP? Surely borders won't be an issue on that.

The store is back up and working properly for me now. Very frustrating, but I've been away for a few days so it was good to come back to see it was working.

Went through and re-downloaded all the minis and PSOne games I've ever previously downloaded, and have put them all on my now-revived PSP.

I think it's been resuscitated as a result of acute Vita envy. However, I now have a machine that plays Pinball Fantasies, one of my favorite Amiga games, in portrait format. Lush.

Imagine that on the gorgeous OLED screen ;)

Also, it seems PSN has retained its independence in the update.

I know :fp: I haven't actually seen a Vita in the flesh yet - I'm trying to resist because once I see it operating, I know I'm going to want.

I'd forgotten how good the PSP screen was, TBH, so I'd be blown away by the Vita.

On a related note, as I've been pretty much ignoring the Minis on PS3, can anyone recommend any? I've got a pile of the + membership freebies to play through, but I've not been massively impressed by what I've seen so far. Any diamonds in the rough I should know about?

Same question, really, for the PS1 games - I'm familiar with most of them; have any really translated well to the PSP? They're upsettingly expensive so I won't be buying many.

Sweet, cheers. I've still got well over a gig free on my mem stick, even with FFIX on there, so I'll get a few of those bought asap.
