This sounds interesting! I'd like to part-exchange my current PS4 controller but I've looked online and can't spot this offer, though...

Ah, I think I get it - they're offering £22 as part-exchange trade-in value for a DualShock 4; and selling new ones at around £40, which means I'd need to add an extra £18 cash.

My current controller works but the plastic has crumbled a bit on the left stick (so I have put a plastic cap on it) and the serial number sticker has worn... all thanks to my PES online play  .

That happened to my original PS4 controller, you know its possible to buy replacement sticks and just replace them?

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Replacement-Co ... 00OZVHNXW/

88p if you can get the last set there.

Or if you want something that might be a bit better then £4.19 for this 'upgrade'...

EDIT - A guide...

https://www.polygon.com/features/2015/5 ... s-xbox-one

You can use Xbox One sticks if you want to.

Thanks for the information, HSH - I hadn't thought of replacing the sticks. I wonder if the process may be a little advanced for my "nothing beyond s screwdriver" DIY "skills"... but I think I may try it once the stick deteriorates a little further.

Its not too difficult. Prying apart the controller is the worst part I think, the only other issue is making sure the spring parts on the triggers don't get lost and go back together in the right place.

The question being “Are you more or less of an idiot than Poser?”

I like them odds. :datass:

So do I, tbf.

I think we’ll both be dead from electrocution by Monday evening. A dumbass draw. :datass:

Real talk, IIRC the only fiddly bit was the springs for the R2/L2 triggers. Prising the thing apart takes a bit of faith, too, but honestly, it's all good. You can do it with a kitchen knife.

I undid the screws easily and then pulled the casing off with my bare hands (I’m so manly). Some of the plastic on the right trigger had broken, so I got the little bits of plastic out and put it all back together.

It now doesn’t stick anymore and the trigger works. It feels like it’s broken (to be fair it is!) but it works ok and so I call that a job well done.

I've just discovered they've changed how you search for stuff by bringing up the digital keyboard as opposed to that awful system they had before. Thank Christ for that.

A swathe of new discounts are hitting the Store today, including:

Are any of these tempting for you?

Horizon Zero Dawn for £12 is absurd value. I keep wanting to transition over to Switch for all my non vr gaming (i really like the instant boot, long controller life and handheld aspects, they all suit my "zero effort should be required" approach to gaming), but with the great games and deals that are seemingly continuous on PS4, it feels like i would be cheating myself out of a lot of top quality gaming.

My copy of Astro Bot arrived today. I love a good platformer, so am looking forward to getting stuck into it this weekend.

And, on a related note, a VR birthday sale has started on the US store.

https://store.playstation.com/en-us/grid/STORE-MSF77008-PSVRSALEG/1

VR Worlds looks good at $6 ($4.50 PS+), might get it to play the gangster game.

More sales too (Uncharted 4, Ratchet and Clank, etc.) but the VR seems to be the main draw.

Just wish that I can play it on the PS4, without a PSNow Sub.

Are those games playable on PS4?

Unfortunately no(t yet). If you have PS3 or Vita you can play the games on these, but not PS4.
