Hey you! Yeah
you!
You know what else is on sale?
The Council
https://store.playstation.com/en-gb/pro ... NCILCMPLEDImagine if the dialogue scenes from Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Telltale games etc were the full game (and one or two properly taxing puzzles). There's little wandering around (although you can explore)
It's the late 1700s and you are Louis de Richet on the trail of his mother who has disappeared in very mysterious circumstances in a 'closed room' (really a manor on a island) scenario
Present are a gathering of real and fictional historical figures (mostly "real") of the time who have gathered for a mysterious meeting - and all of whom are involved in a (or more than one) secret society.
Dialogue forms the vast majority of the game (either as discussions or "Confrontations" which are effectively boss battles where you have certain number of attempts to break through barriers). Characters have vulnerabilities or immunizes to certain approaches.
You gain exp that you can level up various skills (e.g. Manipulation, Questioning, Logic) to help you take advantage of these weaknesses. (There's also "classes" which basically means some skills are cheaper to level up)
It's from a smaller developer - so graphics are acceptable without being outstanding (facial expressions could be better) but it's got a strong theme and style and looks lush (if not photo realistic). Voice acting is general solid, if unspectacular, but nothing awful. (Louis is very very french, but speaks with an American accent that can take some getting used to)
Fancy staying in with something engaging during these cold, dark, winter nights. You should give this a go.
(I'm only up to Chapter 3 out of 5...all are available now)
