Horizon: Zero Dawn had been reduced in the Store for this weekend only; it is now £39.99.

I can't put my finger on the reason, but the game just doesn't attract me. Even though I know that it is highly regarded and folk like SoK have thoroughly enjoyed it.

Maybe you just prefer games with a bit more dawn.

When did we reach a point in time when a game price of £39.99 was considered a reduction? I want to get this at some point, but not until it dips below £15. The price of PC downloads has made me reassess what is a fair price....

£40! How generous! We are truly not worthy.

Use the free £10 from PSN from March? Just a thought to get it for £30?

So not only is £40 a great discount, everyone other than me spent £50 in March to get £10 off in April? I've not even spent £50 on games in the whole of 2017!

Horizon is easily worth £40 but you could get a physical copy for a similar price. There needs to be a major overhaul in the pricing structure of digital downloads of physical releases as beyond convenience there is no incentive to download from PSN over buying the game in a shop.

£40 is nowhere near a bargain price even for an awesome game like Horizon. I paid £41 on release for it.

It may or may not be a bargain depending on whatever your personal view is...it is however undeniably a reduction in price, it was more, now it is less.

Sound, I worded that wrong by saying 'bargain' but my point was remembering what I paid for it on release date, which is what? A whole £1 more than what its been reduced to now over 2 months after release?

Also Googling shows the cheapest for a new physical copy is £39.85 off Shopto. Shocking.

The thing is that Digital and Physical releases of a game are not the same thing.

You can argue about the morality or fairness of it, but the fact is that the Digital release of a game stays at what amounts to an RRP which normally ends up being a good £20 more than the price you can buy the Physical version of the same game for if you shop around, until a sale comes along and reduces that price.

There are no doubt reasons for this, that aren't just going to go away. The fact that the Digital version of this game is (for the moment at least) about the same as the Physical version is worth noting. Again you might argue that its not a bargain, but if someone (for whatever reason) likes to have digital copies of games, then this is a good deal.

If Uncharted 4's pricing is anything to go by, no doubt HZD will soon come tumbling in price at some point this year on PSN. I hope you pick it up then, Jawa!
The concept (robo dinos!) was like a dream game idea to me, but the package as a whole exceeded my expectations. (My expectations being great concept with so-so gameplay and lacklustre story.)

Gave Alienation my standard 5 minutes to impress, ended up playing it for an hour. Very good, not as difficult as Helldivers but more varied and I really like the weapons upgrades system.

7/10 will play again.

The Horizon price is annoying because most of the digital deals on PSN are around the £30 mark.

Glad you like it. I think it's a great game.

Started tales from the borderlands earlier, so far I'm really enjoying it. Looks great, actually runs well and is genuinely funny.

Probably my favourite game out of what I played last year.

Another big sale starting today, had a brief flick through. Most of the Resi games are reduced, MGS V looks v. cheap, Doom at £11.99, Dark Souls 2 is £12 and the pick of the bunch - Stardew Valley at £7.39 (sorely tempted to double dip even though I've got the physical edition).
