PS+ is Just Cause 3 for August.

I've been told that JC2 was great but JC3 wasn't. Has anyone played 3?

It's good but 2 is better (despite 3 having the great fun of multiple grapples). Doing challenges is annoying because of too long load times for restarts.

Without wanting to go all Death's Head on the place (one of that guy is enough ), I struggle to get on board with that kind of ye olde world aesthetic.

Which is what makes it a perfect game to dip in and out of. But fair enough if it's of a type you just cannot get on with, we all have those.

From 00:01 BST on 31 August 2017 we are changing the prices of PlayStation®Plus.

Honestly, unless Playstation had a promo going on the store for a cheaper PS+ sub who the strawberry float paid the current £39.99 for it anyway? My last few years subs have been from CDkeys and will continue to be and they'll always be cheaper than the PS Stores price. I basically have a year to sit and wait for a cheap sub to pop up and stack it if needed.

Problem is that now £40 from CDkeys etc is going to seem a "cheap sub".

I don't really play online at all, but I've had PS+ for a few years for the "free" games. I'm not sure it's worth keeping it going. Although I was tempted to buy Star Wars Battlefront 2.
