Sat, DML and PPM - just to help with your planning and such - we will need to leave my place just before 7pm on Friday to allow for traffic and parking in order to get inside and registered for the tournament.

Also, you'll need some valid ID to register with the Rendezvous and don't forget to bring your Grosvenor cards.

Cool, I'm off all week so I'll probably explore Littlehampton during the day on Friday, then check in is at 3pm, then meet up with everyone and head to yours.

I haven't played poker in ages, so decided to load up a few games tonight.

Currently 13 out of 21 in a $11 MTT that has $2300 for 1st...

(Been card dead for hours so not expecting to get much further)

...so that didn't last long. Finished 20th

Lost half my stack playing a weak ace in late position (best hand I'd seen for ages). Board is 89xxj and it gets checked to river then I take a stab, but he calls with AK for ace high with a better kicker.

After that I lose half of my remaining stack by shoving with A9s and getting called by 44 which makes a set.

Finally I get it in with AQ and big stack shoves over the top which scares everyone else off. He has K9, flops a 9 and it holds

Playing a couple more games tonight.

One of them is a Micromillions progressive knockout. After ten minutes I was down to 40 chips with blinds at 15/30 but somehow came back and now at 20,000 chips and have knocked out five people! Never give up!



Edit: Didn't get much further after reaching the money. I shoved with AK after everyone limped before me, got called by some donk with 56s for most of his stack and he rivered a five.

Had Redtooth regional finals at Portsmouth Grosvenor yesterday - 135 qualified from the Redtooth leagues. Winner gets fully funded trip to Vegas for a big tournament there, places 2-6 get £200 down to £30 and a ticket for the Coventry National finals where the winner, again, goes to Vegas fully funded. I ended up busting in 39th 66<AK preflop (Busted by some drunk weirdo who later got banned from future events for being drunk and abusive to the tournament manager). My mate, with the chip lead, had a 3-way all in with A8 on an A 10 6 board against 33 and KQ for the title and Vegas trip.. KQ then urned a J and doubled up. 33 busted third. My mate then ended up coming second. Horrific car trip home - he was absolutely gutted. Seriously brutal.

Follow-up to this. The Coventry finals were today and my friend who came second at the Pompey one came top ten in Coventry which means he gets the trip to Vegas. So relieved for him after the brutal beat at the regionals in Portsmouth

Ok, lets make some solid plans Stan.

PPM doesn't finish work until 3.30pm on Friday, so by the time he spins around mind it will be nearer 4pm, and then obviously an hour or so to get to Brighton. I'm not sure if this affects any potential plans for Friday. Lets work out a definite plan for the whole weekend, what nights is it best for us to play tournaments.

The tournament on Friday starts at 8:15pm.

If you set off at 4pm you should reach the hotel around 5pm, let's say 15-30 minutes to check in and get sorted in your rooms. My place is on the way to Brighton, about 15 minutes from where you guys are stationed. Whenever you guys decide to leave Littlehampton, drop by mine and we meet up. To allow for traffic and as I'm not sure on what the parking situation will be, we should look to leave mine by 7pm at the latest. If you guys want to pop over mine and chill, or have a cuppa or something before we set off you are more than welcome. We shouldn't be pushed for time at all.

My gf wants to come with us on Friday but she probably won't be sticking around, so we'll be taking our car too.

I'd say the Sunday at Grosvenor sounds a bit gooseberry fool. The Rendezvous ones actually sound really good. The weakest tournaments sound like they are on the Sunday overall, buit I think we talked about skipping the Saturday? If anything the best deep-stacked tournament is that day, and the Grosvenor alternative is fun as well.

Will be calling the casinos in my lunch break today.

The only issue I have about switching days is that whilst I have Monday off, my gf does not and so we'd have to be conscious of keeping the noise down.

I would however be happy with Grosvenor Friday and Rendezvous Saturday.

I agree with DML that the Sunday Grosvenor tournament doesn't sound great. A £15 turbo with 33% rake
Perhaps do the Rendevous on the Sunday, Grosvenor on the Friday? Or if Rendezvous has the best tournaments then I don't mind going there twice and just giving the Grosvenor a miss.

Personally I won't be rebuying into tournaments so on Friday I'd much prefer the Grosvenor and do Rendezvous on Sat or Sun.

We're thinking Friday Grosvenor, Saturday Rendezvous, Sunday Home games. Me and PPM agree, he's here just talking about it.
