I can't really stretch to an £82 tournament I'm afraid chaps. If you want a pre-tournament Nandos that coincides with my pre-Pompey game meal then I could meet you in Gunwharf but I would be scared to play pots - this is a tight month :shifty: :(

Does your email state that you will need to display it?

I've just checked my email and while it doesn't state you need the email, it does have an attachment with a copy of your 'ticket' on there. If you can't find the email I'd contact Grosvenors or APAT to try get it sorted.

Definitely up for this. And also Werewolf, we should try to fit it in at some point either way.

I've contacted the APAT by email and will give Grosvenor a call later but they have my registration details, you have to give your name etc when reserving the seat so surely it'll be fine?

Some guy named Des responded immediately saying I'll be fine.

DML I can arrive at Fratton at 10, 11 or 12. Which is best for you? Makes no difference to me as I'm up with the puppy at 6am.

45 mins clock is pretty nice. 5 mins more than the Goliath. Link to the full structure is here:

Lets go for 12. Meet in Gunwharf for 12.30?

Sounds good. Is there enough time for me to drop my stuff at yours before we go?

I'll probably come round yours at about 12 too if that's alright? Then I can drive us into Gunwharf.

Also I just got a reminder email from APAT with my tickets attached again, so you'll probably have them regardless Drummy.

Cheers buddy. I am sure that one of us will order a Whopper or something with a Garlicky Aftertaste in your honour.

DML if it's OK with you I will probably get the train in to Fratton for 11 tomorrow just in case there is any train fuckery. It's a daily occurrence here at the moment and I don't want to take any chances.

After 9 hours I have made it through to Day 2. I bagged 63k against an average of 35k. 53 players remain out of the 125 that stumped up the buy in.

All in all I had a pretty quiet day. We started with 15k and I basically folded for the first 5 hours. Folding away after seeing junk hand after junk hand. I played like 4 hands in this period, 99 (won on flop), K7o (ditto), something else I don't remember.

Obviously at this point my image is pretty darn TAG. Last hand before the dinner break I get QQ UTG+1, at this time I have about 11k. The standard at my table has been pretty good so I really need to think things through to ensure I get something from this hand. UTG who has been at the table for only about 10 mins raises to 1k at 200/400. I realise that if I 3bet or move in it is going to scream immense strength so I flat. UTG+2 then makes it 4k, everyone else folds including UTG. I have chatted quite a bit to UTG+2 and have been impressed with a couple of his plays. Eventually I decided to ship it and he calls with 77, I double up to 23k and head off to get some fresh air during the break.

First hand back and I get 88 UTG. I raise to 1500 at 300/600 and a short stack moves in for 6k. The button, a guy I had no history with, then flats the 6k. I called, flop comes 468. I lead for 8k, he shoves and I snap. I hold and all of a sudden am sitting on 50k. After that I fluctuated between 40-55k before winning a tidy pot with AA. Folded the last 20mins or so until the end of the day.

I did make what would be considered reasonably disciplined folds but I did what I needed to to avoid sticky situations. For example, I got AJo in the BB when I had 13k at 200/400. There was a MP raise and a call from the button. I didn't want to flat out of the BB and play OOP against two opponents and I didn't want to 3bet and then still potentially be OOP. So instead I just elected to give up my blind and fold.

Day 2 was, rather sadly, total gooseberry fool. The metaphor for my entire day was losing KJ vs. KJ. Could never get anything going, lost flips when a favourite and underdog. Ended up finishing 26th I think.
