For a heads up machine, I'm having a torrid time in heads up match ups recently so missed out on the trophy and £1,200 more. But yes absolutely thrilled with the result. It means from a £5 last longest bet and a £30 tournament entry I have now won near to £9,000 with I believe three second place finishes.

Congrats :)

Are you going to be playing the Easter Beast?

Of to a monthly 10k guarantee tonight in Leeds with a £75 buyin :) 3.5k for first is guaranteed.

The blinds are 25 mins the biggest issue is that they have reg open from 7pm until 11pm.

They do this to help hit the guarantee of £10k and they ended up with 188 runners and 58 re-entries.

Just checked and it finished at 630am with a 5 way chop with 1st and 2nd getting 3k each.

Is anybody considering fronting up for a PokerGo subscription for the WSOP?

I would consider getting a sub if I have time to follow the coverage live, but more likely i'll catch up in the week or two afterwards. Will have to see closer to the time.

Nice scores guys.

Any of you lot still play online? I'm looking for a site to use and I'm not sure where to go after the dumpster fire that Stars has turned into.

Genuinelly as much as I share the concerns about Pokerstars, its still unrivalled for tournament action.

There's less volume on Sky Poker and the interface is less pretty than 'Stars but it's extremely soft.

This very soft player field but it can be tilting as you get more bad beats!

Party poker have gone through some changes recently so be interesting to see how that pans out.

This is true. The Sharkscope stats of some of the players on there are terrifying. Some of those negative ROIs and total losses :dread:

Hopefully playing the Sunday Million tonight got a few satellites lined up and I'm going to have a few punts at the $100 spin and go's.

If I can get enough money from a few wins I might have a go at a 500$ spin and go they have introduced for a laugh

Anyone else watching short deck poker?

I believe they take out 2 through 5 with straights been better than flushes.

Need to document a crazy night of poker I've just had. A lot happened. Bust at final two tables, but all of the following happened in the order they are posted (and some things I'm probably forgetting).

Have a pot where I raise with Jacks. 3-bet and then 4-bet ALL IN of smaller stacks behind me. A bigger stack than me manages to then apparently five-bet all in, but apparently its all a big misunderstanding and he has actually called. The problem is is I have reacted to his all-in believing me to be closing the action with my next move. Now I realise its a call - I've no idea what to do - as its half my stack and I clearly don't have Aces/Kings/Queens. I opt in the wierdest spot ever to call the bet. Flop comes 9-7-2 all hearts and I check and he checks. 3 on the turn, and I shove. He folds, and I'm for a massive pot 3 ways. I'm against A-K and a A-J with a flush draw. The small stack hits a King to take half the chips and I win the side pot.

I raise early with 7-5 but regret it when a loose micro stack shoves on me. I have to call 8,000 to win 13,000. I'm sat there working it out and I get the clock called on me. Its been a minute. (I called and won the pot against A-6).

A cheer goes up on another table. Its because a regular has made his first ever bluff.

I raise with A-3 and a guy re-raises me. I call and we go to a slop.
J-7-2 Flop. I check and he bets. I call.
10 Turn. I check, he bets big and I re-raise him. He calls.
J on the river. The pots absolutely massive. He puts in a massive bet.
I tank and decide to CALL! I'm disappointed to see my read was right but he has A-Q, so lose over half my stack.

The same player I had that epic hand with shoves 130 blinds Pre-flop. He gets CALLED. BY QUEEN 9. HE HAS ACE-KING. HE LOSES MORE THAN HALF HIS STACK TO A RIVERED 9.

Short stack shoves, I cover them so re-shove with Nines. Two all ins over me. Its A-3 vs A-J vs my Nines vs the tiny stacks KINGS! Terrible isolation!
I hit a 9 and make a massive stack.

I try isolating another all in with half my stack with K-9 and I am CALLED. URGH. Flop is awful and I have to fold.

Hyper donk shoves all in. Two players call him. They both reveal Aces! The donk has Queen-3. Board 3456Q.

I win a massive pot with hyper donk as I get straight over straight.

The very next hand I have A-9, hyper donk shoves for over half my stack and the player I had the Ace-3 hand with also shoves for half as much. My A-9 vs Q-J and 4s. Two Jacks on the flop end the hand.

The final hand saw everyone limping and I shoved 17BBs with A-9 from the BB. Hyper donk finds a call for 70% of his chips. He has 3-3. Somehow that wins after a 7-7-6 board and a 10 turn. Eh.

That sounds quite mental. Were the stacks mostly shallow?

26 left in the Main Event and there's a guy left that most will be familiar with...

Image

He's sitting on just under 9m chips and is one of the shorter stacks... But you know, there was that time he had 2 big blinds at the final table and came back to win it all.

Oh, and he won a bracelet this year in the $3,000 No Limit Hold'em Shootout (Event #3).

Hellmuth has won #15. Crazy as he's done nothing all series, barely made a Day 2.

Main Event FT:
Joe Cada has made it. He will start with 39 BBs.
