WSOP:
I actually enjoyed that final table quite a lot despite not really caring who wins. The fast play and knowing what cards were folded made watching the full stream much more bearable than it has been in the past. In the end Nguyen clearly played best overall and deserved the win. A lot of people (including the pros commentating) were very harsh on the way Vayo played but I think he had the right idea in waiting and trying to set a trap, he just didn't get the cards and Nguyen was relentless in playing back and bullying. When Vayo did think he was trapping with second pair, Nguyen turned it around at the end and put him all in on the river. When you're playing HU for over $3M I can understand not being able to pull the trigger with second pair in that spot. You can't really fault Nguyen for the way he ran over that table, but he was also quite lucky with the way he was playing to not run into a monster and lose most of his chips. I think on a different day Vayo's way of playing would have worked.

Catching up with the ME FT, on Day 3 ATM. Not a bad way to start it for Josephy. just got to the set over set hand with Vayo>Josephy  holy gooseberry fool that was brutal. Not a fan of the guy but that's a horrendous spot 3-handed, can't see him recovering from it.

Great coverage and a really good ME overall. Think I'll watch the coverage from the last couple of years after I finish it.

You should watch 2014. Don't bother with 2015 unless you're desperate.

According to their forum Day 1 starts at 2:30pm. DML is kindly letting me stop at his so I can arrive whenever is convenient for him and drop my bag off at his place. After that we could go out, grab some lunch, have a catch up and discuss the event?

Up to you guys! Mini E are you going to play?

Whenever is good for you to come Drum.

Last night went well. Thought I'd get some practice in before next weekend and played online and won a multi player SNG for $328.

Amazingly, I was first with about 49 left, and my computer then decided it needed a mandatory restart. By the time I was back I was 11th out of 22 with 13 cashing, and I still won. :toot:

The crucial hand came with five left, when two stacks (including the big stack) jammed into me when I had Queens. I called, held against A-10 and 7-7, and had 71% of the chips 4 handed.

Nice work! Your year is starting to trend upwards at just the right time!

I'll confirm later in the week but I'll probably look to arrive quite early just to account for any train issues (of which we are experiencing a LOT of right now).

Also, I might be happy to trade 10% to each person, so 30% in total. Let me know if anyone wants to trade more action.

Sounds good! I'm also open to trading 10%.

What's the buy in/structure? I may be around but was going to the go to the Pompey game if my girlfriend isn't still at mine (still not sure on this!)

Edit: £82 might be a bit too much for me living on a PhD stipend :dread: :slol:

Drum if you can try and arrive before midday, that gives us plenty of time to go get lunch and meet up with Leigh. I've heard getting into Gunwharf atm with Christmas shopping etc is a bit of a nightmare, so we may need longer to get into Gunwharf then we usually would.

Also, anyone else wanting to attend, pre-registration is an absolute must. Confirmed there is only 110 seats. With the added value of a Las Vegas trip on top you're playing a 110 man tournament for £4,000 odd AND a trip to Vegas as well. The value is pretty big.

Also just to reiterate, any 10% I trade is to include 10% of any winnings made in the Colossus event at the WSOP if any of us should make it. That goes for any smaller share as well.

I don't think so, but he's one of my best poker mates, we started playing poker the exact same day. He's also a pretty damn good player.

As a plan B, we can play One Night Ultimate Werewolf in marathon mode on Sunday if it all goes wrong? I've invented a simple scoring system and fun randomness that seems to work well.
