What's wrong with the Telegraph as a reliable source? It's hardly the Sun or the Mail.

It's nicknamed "The Torygraph" for a reason.

Nothing to do with its journalism quality, just its political bias. All papers have a political bias, though.

And you're not seeing why I might not entirely trust an article about the Labour leader from a paper with a massive Tory bias?

Yeah it's not as bad as the Mail or Express, but that's like saying Second Degree burns are better than Third Degree burns. Yeah it's technically true but you'd rather have neither.

So basically you would only trust criticism of Labour if it came from a Labour-supporting paper... Okay...

You’re barking up the wrong tree if you think Lagamorph is a Labour/Corbyn supporter.

I strongly dislike Corbyn, but I dislike bullshit more. I want more evidence for these claims than one anti-Corbyn Tory supporting newspaper.

But any paper I link to probably has some political bias against Labour that would make the paper be deemed "unreliable", since obviously a Labour supporting paper wouldn't be running these sorts of stories as it would hurt the party they support.

Yeah I think my anti-Corbyn credentials have been made pretty clear in the past around here

But I'm not going to take The Telegraph at their word in an article slagging him off. I'd want to see some corroboration from somewhere like the BBC on something like that.

So an anti Corbyn paper is biased against him.

A pro Corbyn paper is biased towards him.

It’s almost like a hideously partisan media is a bad thing.

Why the BBC, necessarily? When all the info has come through (I'm certain there's more to come) I'm sure they'll report on it.

Here's a couple of other places, though I'm sure there will be reasons to discredit those as well:

Metro's running the story, but while they're known for left leaning articles, they also post a lot of bs, so you'll have to make up your own mind.

EDIT: Never mind, looks like you already found it.

From the Metro story.

Ex-secret agent Jan Sarkocy claimed the leader was rated ‘number one’ by Moscow during the height of the cold war.

A backbench MP (who’d only been in Parliament for 3 years at the time) from the opposition party, who was known for Irish republican sympathies at the height of the troubles, was Moscow’s number one?

I smell bullshit.

Or it is true and we really shouldn't have been worried about them during the cold war.

They all use The Sun or Daily Mail as their source. If we don't trust The Sun then we're not going to trust another website that just rewrites the same article with no new information.

No they don't. They are referring to the Czech spy himself talking on a Czech TV channel.

The telegraph was a decent paper but it's been making a play for the daily express / mail / Sun readership recently due to falling sales numbers.

Amusement under late capitalism is the prolongation of work.
