Imagine if those 50 times (or thereabouts) had to be printed on even half a page in the newspaper and prominently displayed on the website instead of in a tiny box out usually saved for insignificant 'man arrested in Kent for dogging' stories.

The fact the Daily Telegraph has made the list is even worse. The paper has always been the "Torygraph" and elitist as long as I've known it, but it was a very highly regarded newspaper. Wolf in sheep's clothing springs to mind now.

I would guess that part of this comes about as part of just automated systems flagging things up and there is little to no human oversight/intervention (At least at any kind of leadership level that can actually make decisions) until things get to a very late stage.
It probably doesn't help that some people who are brought over to the UK as children and have lived here for decades make the assumption that they must be UK citizens/have leave to remain and nobody ever actually checks on their status. Simply being in the country for a long time doesn't give any automatic rights to becoming a citizen but there seems to be a perception that it does.

It certainly doesn't excuse what's going on mind, but I think there are reasons why cases like this are happening that aren't necessarily completely nefarious in nature, it's just that the system needs more human oversight and less reliance on automated flags.

Coming up in tomorrow’s Mail, and currently on the website...

Has Stephen Hawking been replaced with a lookalike? Conspiracy theorists claim the REAL professor is DEAD and a 'puppet' has taken his place as we reveal the 6 clues that support the idea

Conspiracy theorists claim we hardly know anything about the award-winning physicist, who celebrated his 76th birthday on Monday.

For there are certain corners of the internet where people are convinced that the real Professor Hawking died decades ago and that in the intervening years the political and scientific elite have installed a lookalike to act in his place.

Some of those who believe he has been supplanted think Professor Hawking, Director of Research at the Centre for Theoretical Cosmology within the University of Cambridge, died in 1985 - three years before the publication of his best-selling book A Brief History of Time.

The idea might seem outlandish, but conspiracy theorists have outlined six signs that they claim clearly support their idea, ranging from the way he looks to the complexity of his theories.

Here FEMAIL shares the 'clues' - and looks into the reasons why theorists think he has been replaced...

[stuff]

1. His appearance
2. His condition
3. The wedding photographs
4. The voice-synthesizing computer
5. The complexity of his theories
6. His condition

So why the need for a 'puppet professor'?

The most common theory is that it was – and still is - important for those in control to push science and 'lose' God. The powers that be want people to feel that they are tiny unimportant dots in an infinite universe, on one of a trillion planets, in a sea of countless suns, the reason being that people who feel insignificant and small also feel powerless and unimportant, thus making them easier to control.

They also want to get the public used to accepting theories as fact.

The motive is there. The pictures speak louder than words. So could it be that the conspiracy theorists are right this time?

This paper has really lost it now.

I see they've hit National Enquirer levels of bullshittery.

What's next, Jeremy Corbyn replaced by a Communist Russian lookalike in the 1970s as part of a teenage Vladimir Putin's master plan to destroy the west?

Scandal-hit Ukip leader Henry Bolton was plunged into a fresh crisis last night after it was revealed that his glamour model girlfriend made racist remarks about Meghan Markle.

Mr Bolton, 54, was already facing calls for his resignation after he left his wife for 25-year-old Jo Marney. Now The Mail on Sunday can reveal shocking messages in which Ms Marney says that Prince Harry's 'black American' fiancee will 'taint' the Royal Family with 'her seed' and pave the way for a 'black king'.

In a shocking outburst, Ms Marney also says that she would never have sex with 'a negro' because they are 'ugly'.

She was immediately suspended from Ukip last night after The Mail on Sunday alerted party chiefs to her grossly offensive comments.

One Ukip figure even predicted that the scandal could signal the end of the party, which has battled serious financial problems since Nigel Farage stepped down as leader in the wake of the EU referendum.

In Ms Marney’s messages, which she sent to a male friend just three weeks before starting her relationship with Mr Bolton, she sneers at Harry’s engagement to Los Angeles-born Markle – who will marry Harry on May 19 – on the grounds that she is a ‘black American’.

Ms Marney also describes Ms Markle, whose mother is black and whose father is white, as ‘a scrubber’ and a ‘gender equality twat’ who is ‘obsessed with race’ and a ‘dumb little commoner’ with a ‘tiny brain’.

‘This is Britain, not Africa’

Lovely woman.

I thought they were decent off the cuff comments. I'm sure Corbyn would have nailed it with his famed rapier-like wit.
