PostThe Adventure Quest 4: Tales End
by Hulohot » Thu Dec 03, 2009 1:12 pm

I'm thinking christmas might be a nice time to bring this forum game to an end. I have an idea after spending the last 2 hours thinking which will likely take place between two time periods with a situation that will allow for (hopefully) plenty of puzzles. It's been about four months since the last one believe it or not. Anyway register here if interested with the usual variations of the word "in". Cleverest/ funniest wins a prize (which I am also considering as IRL rewards this time around.

The Story:

It has been nearly 8 years since the attack on the World Trade Centers, and conspiracy theorists still believe a bomb could be heard exploding in the foundations of the South Tower. The North Tower survived that day, along with evidence of foul play in the sub-basement of the building...the remains of seven heroes who saved thousands of lives.

Round 2 is about to begin.

:shifty:

There will be two time periods. 2009 and 1307.

That is all for now.

The Players:

PsychicSykes- Returning as Sir Sykes.
Banjo- Lionel Futch
Roonmastor- Returning as Sir Roonmastor
Irene Demova
Memento Mori- Lord Maury Van Kronenberg
Drumstick- Jorge Costa

The beginning.

The sun was slowly rising over the sprawling treetops far below. A group of tourists sat on a rock formation, taking in the sight of their lives, surrounded by ancient walls and terraces. An old couple, a young honeymooning couple, three small children with their aging parents, two romatically involved Peruvian tour guides.

The moment was ruined by a sudden rumble as ancient stonework rose from the ground among walls of fire. The group scattered for cover, their screams masked by several more explosions decimating the ancient lost city of Machu Picchu.

Many years earlier.

"I want more fookin' ale!" came a voice from the crowd, the pewter mug smashing down on the wooden counter. The character was very large, with mad facial hair and a Claymore attached to his back.
"We don't allow weapons in here mate." The bartender spoke, shaking. The crowd were getting rowdy.
"You leave me alone, this is my best friend. I smacked Jesus in the face with it." The man growled, picking up a strangers mug nearby and downing the warm thick liquid.

Sitting in the corner of the bar were some Knights talking amongst themselves, disrupted by the commotion at the bar. The man causing trouble had been complaining about the lack of ale the whole journey home, and was mighty vexxed when the bartender was low and "sharing it around." They did not trust him after an unfortunate betrayal on his part. They were hoping to ditch the man and return to where they had came.

As Sir LewisD found himself the victim of a ten man bundle, the knights quickly gathered their belongings and headed for the door.

Character creation:

Those of you who took part in the first game can either create a new character, or reprise your original role as a Knights Templar. If you did not survive the first game, that is okay and you can carry on as that character if you wish.

I'm sure you know how the creation works by now. Please submit your character. If you wish to re use your original, the link is here.

One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

Whenever you're ready to submit. I'm not in a real hurry to start. Christmas can be quite busy for some come to think of it.

Sir Roonmastor twirls Orage around his body.

"If that backstabber Lewis come back, I'll give him the sharp edge of my blade."

Lord Maury Van Kronenberg

Born to a respected military family in Anjou, Maury was inducted into the order in Acre. His family's wealth comes from the ownership of lands in the River Sarthe valley where he left behind a wife and child. His weapon of choice is a mace though he is also a skilled archer. He is a man to be feared.

We can confirm that only moments ago, two bomb blasts crippled the legs of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, causing it to collapse onto the Champ de Mars. We have no confirmation of civillian casualties as of this moment.

The attack comes just days after a series of seemingly simultaneous bombings worldwide left the city of Macchu Piccu, Peru, the Capitol Dome in Washington and Temple Church in London severely damaged.

...

Sir Lewis D sat on a bench outside the towns church, having escaped the brawl at the bar. He had managed to lose his "friends", which pleased him. He knew exactly where they were heading, but knew they would not reach it before they did.

The vicar appeared from the church and took a seat beside Sir Lewis, who proceeded to hand the man a letter. The vicar looked at it, eyeing the thick wax seal bearing the Templar insignia, got up and left without a word.
