The Random Retro Videos Thread

One thing I've noticed recently in the course of my daily web browsing is that there is an enormous amount of interesting retro-gaming themed videos on Youtube, albeit probably not that interesting to warrant a separate thread. Therefore I propose a videos thread whereby if you come across anything intriguing or simply something you find enjoyable, share the wealth and we have a big group hug while watching the videos. Or something.

I'll go first then - for some strange reason, I've always been intrigued by developer/console manufacturer logos at the start of games and the different animations and designs that you get. I therefore found these two Mega Drive-themed videos detailing the different Sega logo intros to be an oddly addictive 14 minutes:




And on a related note, I'd say this Capcom intro from the early days of the PSX/Saturn is one of my favourites:

One of my favourite game endings ever. I don't think I'll ever play another game which will hold the memories I have of MGS. It was truly phenomenal and easily in my top 5 of all time.

Rage Racer. Did the whole "buy car, tune car" thing a year before Gran Turismo.


Xevious and Space Harrier for the Sharp MZ-700. Very impressive considering how the MZ-700 can't even do proper graphics.

Interesting graphical style. Shame they didn't do the Speccy version like that using the low-res screen instead of the hi-res one. Would probably have been a lot more playable.
