Did StayJap's Paranoia thread remind you of Red Dwarf too? :shifty: That's all I could think of when I saw it. :fp:

It only really works with just the 5 of them as the rest of the crew just ruin it.

It's a rent in the space-time continuum

The last two were on Dave, and they were bad.....................really bad

They were on Dave. The 1st ep was strawberry floating awful, the second two were actually pretty good. Needed a laughter track though.

It didn't feel right without laughter

True. Something just felt wrong.

Hopefully the new series that's reportedly in the works will return to the style of old, but with Doug Naylor being in charge on his own, I fear more self-indulgent wankery will be on the cards.

To be honest, i only love the first six series. 7+8 were a bit... gooseberry fool? Some good moments though like the Ace Rimmer ep and the Rimmer song.

Exactly my thoughts. Series 1-6 is comedy gold. Series 7 is worth it purely for the nazi ace rimmer sequence and the kennedy assasination episode.

Series 8 is awful in every single way. The only half decent episode is the future predicting computer one.

The Dave episodes never happened. NEVER HAPPENED!

They ruined the whole premise of the show by bringing Kochanski in and getting rid of Rimmer. The whole point was that he was stuck with the one person he wanted to be with the least, then they change it so he's stuck woth the one person he wanted to be with the most... good going :fp:

Also a personal pet peeve is i hate it when they change actors/actresses who play characters in a show so Kochanski always seemed.. wrong.

And bringing back the ship and everything... ugh. I only watched the first Dave episode and i did not laugh, giggle or titter.

I always wanted to do nasty things with Kochanski  even though I was barely old enough to be thinking those thoughts.

I'm a huge fan - its my favourite programme ever! I have them all on DVD and watch them all the time.

One of my favourite moments is actually really subtle. Its in 'The Inquisitor' when Kryten learns hes going to die, and they've seen versions of Rimmer and The Cat killed, and Kryten just turns around to Lister as hes trying to fix the matter transporter and says 'All in all...todays been a bit of a BUMMER hasn't it sir?'

I only ever caught random episodes from the various series over the years but I always liked what I saw. Recently bought the whole boxset so I can finally watch it all in the proper order :D
