I think UKTV/Dave are owned by the BBC.

Not shocked considering how often QI loved reminding us QI repeats were on Dave.

It's all more complicated than it needs to be with various different organisations involved, but yeah broadly speaking the BBC owns it all.

UKTV is now owned by BBC Studios which is the new name for the "commercial arm" of the BBC, but only as of 2019 I think. Before that it was part owned by BBC Worldwide I believe, no idea who owned the rest then.

Presumably the reason Back to Earth is not included in this is some rights issue with either Coronation Street or Blade Runner which that special was obsessed by. It was also a bit gooseberry fool so that's another reason not to include it I guess

Found this video from the convention, not the best quality but just before 20mins in it starts getting a bit awkward as he sorta slags off Death in Paradise that Danny's in then straight after, he goes against all the others pretty much by saying he prefers the first Kryten etc..

Worth a watch though if you can put up with the quality. Doesn't seem as bad as I remembered it now but slightly awks at times.

I remember going to the first 3 Em Cons and meeting all the major cast members of Red Dwarf, I went into the Q and A and there were more of them present than here and they made a big deal about sitting the two Holly's either end of the panel essential saying they hated each other and that they were keeping them apart. I got to talk to all of them individually and they all seemed really nice but there was definitely effort overall to keep Norman and Hattie separate.

Yeah like I say, almost certainly a rights issue to do with Corrie.

Probably, it wasn't the best but it's the only one I haven't been able to rewatch.

I was part way through my... 20th? rewatch of S1-6 when it fell off of Amazon Video. Great to see I can start over again now.

I still own them all on DVD and refuse to get rid of them because of the extras. The only one I don't have is Back to Earth and The Promised Land.

You can buy/rent it on Prime Video I believe, and of course the DVD is probably still out there to buy, but yeah whilst it wasn’t exactly a highlight for the show it’s annoying that it never seems to be made available for streaming when the rest of it all is

So. Rewatching for the first time in years and thinking about it, "Thanks for the Memory" is the most mature storytelling of all the eps of original RD run.

Before now I'd skip because I thought it was boring. But now I'll skip it because it hits the feels

How do I let the end credits play out? Sick of missing out on the whole song :x

Kryten's roasting of Rimmer in Justice always gets me.

Who would allow this man, this joke of a man, this man who could not outwit a used tea bag, to be in a position where he might endanger the entire crew? Who? Only a yoghurt.

 Only a yo-gurt.

Finished all seasons again from start to finish. I must admit (apart from the promised land) the later seasons are good on rewatches. Season 8 which I never really liked seems to get better on every watch. Sure there are a lot of gaps and plot holes between later seasons but another rewatch just makes me want for more!

Hollister absolutely steals the show in Series 8, its worth watching just for him.

If the crew discover I'm really just Dennis the Doughnut Boy, I'm finished!

One of the tricks they missed though with season 8, was that after the trial, Lister should have been promoted for his bravery and heroics over the previous seasons. This would have been kryptonite for the resurrected Rimmer who would have gone absolutely spare at seeing Lister doing so well.

I always thought they should have played more into when Lister lied about passing the chefs exam!

"How'd I Do, Mr Lister, Sir!"

As for a favourite series... that's a tough one.

Has to be one of 3, 4, 5 or 6. But I can't choose.
