The Jackpot overdrive power-up dishes out some insane bonus points. 3X multiplier but only if you hit all notes whilst it's active. Sounds tough but it's not too bad.

Well, I've persevered with this for a good couple of hours now, and it's totally changed my mind. I no longer think it's 'not for me'. Now I just think it's gooseberry fool. Totally unbalanced, the power-ups are nigh-on game ruining and you can't get a decent score without them. Controls are fiddly and the concept is unnecessarily complicated. Hugely disappointed in this.

Nailed it. I'm on the edge of buying this but already have these doubts, don't want to drop 1200 points on this only to get to the point you are now.

The game is a let down, I just want to like it so much.

Well I don't mind the 1200 points as I've got the 25 songs for Rock Band 3, which was a bargain in itsself. But I thought this would be a nice extra. Oh well.

It isn't complicated at all. Level up track multipliers before checkpoint. Raise level cap. Repeat. Use power-ups tactically.

Have you tried all the different control schemes? Once you get comfortable with one, it's totally intuitive.

The power-ups shouldn't be so crucial but I think they add a nice bit of variety.

I think the complication comes from knowing how 'levelled' each track is. You're constantly glancing over to the left to see where you're at, and you lose your combo. On the harder songs, it feels like you're juggling five balls at once. I just think the whole concept of the game is flawed from the outset.

Totally forgot to mention the coin system, which is one of the most bizarre design decisions I've ever come across.

Why include it in the game then?

Look at the note track. When you're at the level cap it's fully coloured.

I really like it and once you get the hang of it, it's not too bad. Actually getting five star scores (or even Gold Stars) feels far more rewarding than it does in regular Rock Band. Even the easier songs are challenging.

504k on won't get fooled again and that's only good enough for 4 and 3/4 :|

15th in the world though :datass:

Smashed Crimsonclown's more than a feeling by 10k points..... ;)

And for Parenthetically Speaking..

Sefi played Ace of Spades '08 by Motörhead
Right artist, wrong song!

Sefi played Killer Queen by Queen
Right artist, wrong song!

Got that 50's song ;) hehe... now I am going for the 50 unique songs in a decade :fp: 1990's it is!!!

Don't you get double coins the first time you play a unique song?

Apparently it's quite easy to rack up coins by working through reasonably sized libraries.

i am actually playing the non rb3 version of bon jovi songs where i can so I don't have to contend with the bloody key board and it's 3 notes per checkpoint.

Number 2 with lay your hands on me 8-)

nofxmaggot is from here right ? just smashed your SHOUT score by 40,000k and I still haven't 5 starred it. I am not really sure what the best combination for it is!!

I don't believe you. There's nothing as awesome as getting a golden on vocals.

2 questions.

What control method has everyone settled for? I got with the dpad and A button.

If you link it to Facebook, is it constantly spamming it with updates? I hate that nonsense! But want to get involved with the Facebook challenges.

Well this has reminded me I'm gooseberry fool at rhythm games. Still managed to get in the top 5 worldwide for Satisfy My Soul by Bob Marley though. 8-)

only 8 people had played it
