DLC is crossing over to the new game, just read that on Facebook, not 100% sure if it's true.

They sort of cover it in the video but don't explicitly say yes.

DLC is crossing over. Doesn't sound like an Xbox360 version is coming out. I think I better start looking for an Xbox One and use my vast amount of Xbox 360 games to offset the cost? Is GAME best for this?

It is, every song can be transferred at no additional cost and old instruments will be compatible too. Not sure if every single instrument will be though.

Doesn't seem like every single song will be ready for transfer by release, but "a large chunk" will according to this interview.

I was reading the DLC stuff on the rock band site (which has made my eyes go gozzy with the horrid colour scheme), and it does say the DLC will carry, but not when.

Players who’ve purchased or downloaded playable tracks on last-generation consoles will be able to download and play those tracks on their new platforms at no additional charge*. Hundreds of tracks will be available at launch, with more back catalog music – and new tracks – to be added regularly after launch.

Q: Will my old DLC work on the next gen console of the same type, i.e. PS3 -> PS4?
A: Yes! Content purchased from the store or exported from a disc will transfer over to the new generation of consoles at not addition cost as we make that content available.

Translation: Yes the DLC will work for free - when we get around to porting it/buying the license.

Absolutely loved Rock Band 1, 2 and 3 (2 was probably in my top 3 games of last gen) but I don't think I can really be arsed with them any more. I only really played drums and it was a hassle shifting stuff and setting them up whenever I wanted to play. Plus all my DLC was on the 360 and I'd be buying the PS4 version.

That was such a waste in RB3. Dunno about the DLC but barely any of the songs they chose in the base game used it properly. It seemed like such an afterthought.

Time to build up your music libraries!

I have Rock Band 2. You can export the songs if you pay a fee on PSN/Live for £3.29 and have Rock Band 3 to hand. Is there a way to do this without the game?

The amount of people I've seen say this, RB4 may end up being Microsoft's killer app for the Xbox One

I didn't particular invest that much in DLC but I did have/still have (somewhere) Green Day Rock Band. I wonder if I'll be able to import those songs and stuff into this or would I have to purchase them separately or whichever ones they have avaliable as DLC?

Nice to see I can just buy RB4 and just use my RB guitar - DLC isn't main thing for me, but nice to see it happening :D

This means there's no charge for DLC bought via a digital store.
There's no charge for songs you've already exported from a Rock Band disc.
But to export from a Rock Band disc you must either enter the promo code included with its manual (one use only) or pay an export cost (steps involved.)

Not sure what you're trying to tell me there Venom.

I was just pointing out that I called DLC transfer and instrument compatibility earlier in the thread.
