Partial DLC List for 29/11/11... Roadrunner Records Pack 02!
RockBandAide wrote:Several weeks ago, Rock Band achieved 2 million “likes” on Facebook, and as they promised, they released the names of four artists that would be featured as upcoming DLC. Of those artists teased (Breaking Benjamin, Coldplay, Stevie Wonder, and Dream Theater), only one has not had DLC released yet. If we look back, the trend of the release of these teased artists seemed to be on an “every other week basis,” which if continued would mean that Dream Theater should be announced this week, for release next week. And we now have new information that may corroborate this thinking.

Earlier today, Trivium announced on their Facebook page that the title track from their latest album In Waves will be available as part of the “Roadrunner Records Pack 02,” and that we can “download it now.” As this week’s DLC has already been announced and didn’t include this new Roadrunner pack, we’re assuming that this announcement was premature, and probably meant for next week. As Dream Theater is also a Roadrunner Records artist, and they only have a single song coming to Rock Band, they are most likely part of this pack, as well.

As a fan of old school Classic Rock, I'd love some Skynyrd (Anything from 'God & Guns', their last album would be good.) but my heart would really go out to a selection of tracks from Slash's solo Album. Sadly as that's 'Europe Only' Roadrunner, I doubt it would sail. Also who knows what ties he still has (legally/contractually) to the GH franchise.

Some Pro Guitar KillSwitch would be nice. Or some Theory of a Deadman. Pro Guitar Santa Monica

Also, I don't get why all these giveaways always claim to be US only. They're for bloody download codes, there's literally no reason why it should be confined to one country/area

Still entering it, F the police.

DLC Week of 11/29 - Roadrunner Pack 02 & Starship, plus Jane's Addiction Pro Upgrade!
Der_Lex wrote:Hey gang,

Fans of blistering (prog) metal tracks and classic rock anthems are going to be in for a treat!

First up, Dream Theater make their long-awaited return with a track off of their 11th studio album, A Dramatic Turn of Events, released earlier this year. “On the Backs of Angels” is an epic track, nearing almost nine minutes, with multiple time changes woven throughout this intricate metal composition. Fans looking to go a bit deeper can upgrade “On the Backs of Angels” to Pro Guitar and Pro Bass for $0.99.

Opeth’s “Ghost of Perdition” from their critically acclaimed 2005 album, Ghost Reveries, will also be available in the pack.

The three-song pack is rounded out by Trivium’s “In Waves” from the band’s latest record of the same name.

Starship’s ‘80s classic, “We Built This City,” will also be available on the Rock Band Music Store. Off of 1985’s Knee Deep in the Hoopla, the track – with its memorable, sing-along chorus – reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

A Pro Guitar and Pro Bass upgrade will also be available for Jane’s Addiction’s “Jane Says,” a track from the band’s first studio album, 1988’s Nothing’s Shocking.

Available on Xbox 360, Wii™ and PlayStation®3 system (November 29th, 2011):

  • Dream Theater – On the Backs of Angels X
  • Opeth – Ghost of Perdition
  • Trivium – In Waves
  • Starship – We Built This City

Pro Guitar/Bass Upgrades for Legacy Songs:

  • Jane’s Addiction – Jane Says

(These tracks will be available in Europe on PlayStationÂŽ3 system November 30th)

(The Trivium single and the Roadrunner Pack will be delayed on the Wii for several weeks. Nintendo flagged an issue at the last minute and we will have to resubmit and with the upcoming holiday schedule we're expecting them to release in early January. The Dream Theater and Opeth singles should be available individually on the Wii in the meantime. We'll post updates in future DLC announcements.)

The Dream Theater, Opeth, and Trivium tracks will be available as “Roadrunner Records Pack 02,” and all songs will also be available for purchase individually on Xbox 360, PlayStation®3 system and Wii™. Tracks marked with “X” will include Pro Guitar and Pro Bass expansions for $0.99 per song.

Price:
$5.49, £2.49 UK, €3.99 EU (440 Microsoft Points, 550 Wii Points™) for “Roadrunner Records Pack 02”
$1.99 USD, £.99 UK, €1.49 EU (160 Microsoft Points) per song
$2.00 USD (200 Wii Points™) per song
$0.99 USD (100 Wii Points™/80 Microsoft Points), £0.59 UK, €0.79 EU per song for eligible Pro Guitar/Pro Bass upgrade

Such a shame they had to pick a song from Opeth's worst album. Not surprising, though.

strawberry float yeah Opeth, my favourite band. Happy to finally see them, and I quite like Dream Theater too, so I'll pick both of those songs up when I go home at christmas. Kinda missed Rock Band, been so long since I played it, but I used to love it, just never had any DLC for it, and played it pretty great. Ghost Reveries will be pretty sick on guitar, looking forward to getting those drums out again though.

@Dangerblade, probably shouldn't say Ghost Reveries is my favourite Opeth album then, errrr, yeah its definitely Still Life. :shifty:

Just a note that these songs are RB3 only.

Any DLC before RB3 release works on any RB game (including RB3), anything after is RB3 only.

Thanks Bido, Sefi and anyone else who came along last night. We're still recovering here and going over the highs (and lows) of last night. I'll be honest there was a point last night where we wanted to go 'Sod it, we're not doing this again', but we're picking ourselves up, brushing ourselves down and moving on towards December. RCL Night 4 will be December 17th and there will (hopefully) be a special early start (3pm-4pm) for a complete endless setlist runthrough of The Beatles: Rock Band. This will not be on the posters, but will only be advertised on here and other gaming related websites so those that turn up are those who want to get up there and actually play.

We have video to come later, I'm just working on the first one ('Won't get Fooled Again'). We also have finally captured one of our regulars spectacular rendition of 'Timmy and the Lords of the Underworld'. I believe we also have 'Clocks' too. Right, I'm off to order Chinese food, open a bottle of wine and not look at a plastic guitar for at least 2 days.

Yeh it got pretty outta control last night  When you can't hear the massive speakers over everyone else shouting you know it's got too popular! In fact I'm surprised that it wasn't over capacity last night.

It hit 53, and the capacity down there (apparently) is 70. We'll be moving more tables next time and putting up a 'barrier' to maintain a clear path in front of the stage. Also there is a 4th Speaker I can run to the back of the room which might help for those not near the front.

We're also contemplating a hand stamp policy (ie, when you first come in we stamp your hand and you need to show it to request) and a thousand other ideas... Don't take anything as for certain until we make an announcement though. It really was a case of noone expected it to be that popular last night, so now we just have to go back and rethink things to make sure the event can continue, be fun for people and not kill us in the process.

Also we've spoken with the pub about appropriate ways to deal with some of the more 'Rowdy' guests (one of whom actually hit one of the RCL staff in an attempt to get her attention last night and will likely be barred from all further events and indeed the pub), so that should take care of that. The Pub is very keen to keep us, not least because the Landlord is a gamer, so they're happy to work with us to make the best of it for all of us. Still a lot of people did seem to have a good time last night without impacting on others, and we have to look at the positives of that. Plus I got to see one of the most awesome renditions of 'No One Knows' ever. Some serious drumming there...

I think I did No One Knows on Bass, my friend must have been the drummer. Bad memory :fp:

Don't... I've got entire chunks of last night missing. Apparently I played 'Piano Man' on keys for my friend Patrick and I'll be damned if I can remember any of it. The entire ensemble for No One Knows was really good. Annoyed I didn't film it.
