God damn I hope something comes from Arcade Fire being dicks with these teases :|

DLC 27/7: RATM AND THE TEMPER TRAP!
Coming over from the Rock Band VR soundtrack, we’ve got two great songs from Rage Against The Machine and The Temper Trap this week. Load them up and open the windows.

Previously on Rock Band 2 and currently on Rock Band VR, “Testify” is a Rage Against The Machine hit with strong performances on both Billboard’s Alternative and Mainstream Rock charts. When Rage Against The Machine went on their reunion tour, they opened nearly every show with “Testify”, a perfect testament to its staying power. Coming from The Battle of Los Angeles, the band’s most modern album of original songs, “Testify” is a perfect example of Rage Against The Machine’s style. Tom Morello’s guitar drips with pedals and effects, while Zack de la Rocha goes all in on vocals, only pausing to let the main guitar riff breathe.

“Alive”, The Temper Trap’s appearance on Rock Band VR, is also coming this week. Hailing from Australia, The Temper Trap moved to London and has put out three albums since. All three albums have charted very well in both the UK and their homeland, while garnering multiple wins at the ARIA Music Awards. Hailing from their most recent album Thick as Thieves, “Alive” is a ton of fun to play. The drums maintain a tough disco beat, making it the hardest part of the song. The harmonies can get pretty dense, and during the chorus they branch off of each other so that you and your friends are all tackling the line differently.

Songs can be purchased individually for $1.99 each.
  • Rage Against The Machine - "Testify" (Rewind: Rock Band 2 tracklist)
  • The Temper Trap - "Alive"

Get the axe out and chug some tunes out, man 8-)
I'm considering getting the Shins tune so I'll put a score in.
In other news, another song unlocked from the Red Hot Chili Pepper's seminal record, Blood Sugar Sex Magik (if you bought it way back when). This time, it's the mighty Under the Bridge. Tuuuunnnneeee!

No prisoners.

It's interesting how much negativity these posts seem to get, and yet they don't seem to learn. Who do they get to do the Challenge artwork, too? :dread: Nick seems awful.

It's the sections where you've got two notes repeated in quick succession so it's all hammer on/pull offs. I'm not actually sure what the relevance of the "lane" is. It might be to try and make it slightly less accurate so you're allowed a bit of expression, but I'm not sure!

You get similar things with fast single note sections (drum rolls, etc) too.

There's definitely a load in the game, I've got... 119 eligible tunes.

strawberry floating White Denim, though. Awful. I can do a lot better than that spotlight score on Hard, so I'll have to play it again at some point this week :dread:

The Shins.

Just bought it. It sounds pretty good from listening to it on YouTube. I'm not sure why I never picked it up, apparently it was released during the Rock Band 2 era

IF YOU CLICK THE SONG YOU HAVEN'T GOT ON THE SPOTLIGHT PAGE IT TAKES YOU TO THE ACTUAL SONG NOW. Spending money has never been so easy.

#throwbackthursday

2009 – April 7th

  • The Shins – New Slang
  • Black Tide – Warriors of Time
  • Bullet for My Valentine – Waking the Demon
  • Toby Keith – Beer for My Horses
  • Toby Keith – I Love This Bar
  • Toby Keith – She’s a Hottie
  • Toby Keith – Should’ve Been a Cowboy
  • Toby Keith – Who’s Your Daddy?

I noticed you had a bash at them too

ps White Denim are great you lil bitch :x I wish we had more from them :(

Buffalo wrote:What's a trill lane?

Yeh what Frank said. I quite like them but I think the hardcore long time players have got use to the old system and don't like this new way of doing it. From what I've read it's meant to make it more lenient (easier) and be similar to how it is in Guitar Hero. Apparently Rock Band has been more strict with the timings previously. I think the feature was introduced in RB3 and in the last patch Harmonix has gone back and added them to a huge chunk of songs from before that introduction date which caused a huge uproar from the hardcore players

Our league (league 2) is now a match for our highest position last season. This league now has 322 teams in which will gradually grow week on week. There's 43 teams in the top league above us but we are on week 7 of 8 so I'm not sure 2 weeks will be enough to get in that top league.

Every week is Chris Complains week :shifty:

Also, next week I'm away for like... five of the days. Back late on Tuesday, so I might not be able to contribute *anything* to next week's challenge! :dread:

I'm think this week and next week we will just be playing for Rivals Points. Whatever the strawberry float they do... Until Season 2 starts and we reset back to the bottom league again
