A few more Red Hot Chili Peppers fixes and Stevie Nicks on Xbox for those who bought them and still haven't been able to download them.

I was worried they'd pull some shite like that :fp: Eurghhhh. But hopefully that means everyone else will be equally bad. Hopefully.

That Dead Black tune is literally the worst thing about Rock Band 4. Wish they'd stop with the hard-songs-have-to-be-shite-metal mentality.

I think we will be okay, this league we are in is pretty gooseberry fool for spotlight highscores so we can at least stay in this league by the end of the week and secure the dinosaur tshirt.

I'm not sure we will get a promotion though as planned to win the eagle shirt :(

This weeks DLC isn't my kind of thing and so I won't be able to contribute to one of the spotlight songs.

EDIT: I haven't got Through The Fire and Flames either, so I can only contribute to one song. Maybe we will go down this week :(

I'll pick up Pull Me Under. Never finished it on GH but hopefully the GH chart will be okay. I've got TTFAF but that song is just horrible so unlikely to be much help with that one lol.

Also I really hate the RBR blue guitar. If you're sitting to play it's downright impossible to activate OD by tilting and the select button is in an even worse place than the standard black one. Not impressed! Activision had the right idea with those massive back buttons your palm could rest on.

A spotlight score however bad is better than no spotlight score so it'd really help with whatever scores you can put in! Remember you don't have to do expert either, sometimes if I do badly keeping a good score streak I'll knock it down a difficulty to beat my score (even though I played at a high difficulty previously, the streak is more important, especially on bass that has x6 multiplier versus x4 on the other parts)

I think this week it's going to have to be XP or bust  I don't want those shitty star tshirts in the leagues below us :(

Put no fail on?

I can provide vocals for all of them tomorrow. They're pants.

I've literally always got no-fail on (it's more fun that way), but I'll have to go down to hard to get a decent combo going, I think. Tempted to buy Dream Theatre but we'll see how it goes for the rest of the week...

I'm away today and tomorrow, but I can put some more scores in from Sunday!

Got new high scores on bass and guitar for most of the spotlight tracks - aint touching DF on guitar and didn't want to face the other song a second time (the vocals... dear god) and got 4* on the rest. Feels like I can at least 5* them though - for the most part these were sight-reads and the main problem was breaking combo, so now I have a bit more familiarity with the tracks I can probably put a better effort in.

That said in terms of XP I noticed I have about 300 songs on the big list lol so I started playing some of those instead. they're just more interesting.

300?? I didn't think many would apply this week, I guess I was wrong.

Hopefully I have at least 80-90 to play from.

Yep. Seemed to be basically no pattern or logic to it whatsoever either. Just about a third of my collection where not even every song from a band is included. Really bizarre!

Seems to be songs that have a long runtime. Good for XP :datass:

I have about 200 that count for this week and I've hardly played any of them in RB4 so I'll try and put scores on as many as I can before Tuesday!

We managed to survive league 3! Mostly thank's to Frank and Wrathy, nice one :toot:

Have you seen the top leagues XP table? I just saw it on reddit  it's mental! There's only 10-12 teams in the top league so you need to be in the top few to stay in that league week on week...

Image

For comparisons sake, I think we got about 60,000 XP this week (nearly half of which was from Franks playing)

:dread: That's crazy. You'd imagine a lot of those groups will have a bunch more active members than us though :shifty:

I'm proud of us, anyway. Wonder if the first challenge of season 1 will be any better!

100,000 each if all 10 members are active. You did about 29,000 I think so imagine doing that 3.3 more times and then 10 people doing that

We did really well though, especially getting up to the league above us a few weeks ago! Now we all should have the T-Rex shirt and the bronze, silver, gold stars shirts (will any of us modify our characters though is the question... whenever I've played online with you all we have all been wearing the same default outfit of jeans and a grey top  :fp: )

I think all teams start in the bottom league again this week so we have a few laid back weeks before we hit the top leagues again.

:dread: I changed the outfits of a couple of my band members earlier to the new shirts. Turned the console off for a while, just turned it back on and they've gone back to the default outfits! What have you done, Harmonix.

Wait I don't have the Rivals shirts any more that must be what's broken it. Will investigate.

Maybe that's why everyone has default costumes    I must confess I haven't touched that part of the game myself, all my concentration is devoted to the note highway so I never see the characters and animations.

DLC this week are the two free songs...

FREE DLC this week in Rock Band 4 as Permaband brings a pair of tracks to the platform. CCP Games is the developer behind the legendary MMO EVE Online, and Permaband is well-known for filling songs to the brim with EVE Online references, over-the-top music videos, and strong instrumentation.

First up is “Killing Is Just A Means”. Because even the most cut-throat space pirate enjoys a good power ballad. Harmonies alternate verses between two singers and come together during the chorus. The guitar features multiple solos and is a fairly tough track overall.

Following that is “Wrecking Machine”. The perfect track for wrecking dreams and intergalactic conquest. There’s a bassline full of movement during the chorus, while harmonies get tricky at the same time. Guitar is even harder than “Killing Is Just A Means”, with a solo surrounded by fun licks the whole song.

Both songs are free to all Rock Band 4 owners, and can be found in the in-game Music Store, on the console storefront, or on the console website.

  • Permaband - "Killing Is Just A Means"
  • Permaband - "Wrecking Machine"

I probably won't bother with them myself unless they are the weekly spotlight songs at some point in the future.

8-)

Wish they'd let you take screenshots off the actual console, though. I get not wanting to record video for copyright reasons, but pictures should be fine, surely? :(
