Looks like GnR might be coming in September. Not arsed about it to be honest.

Source? :o

It would be my luck after buying the season pass and one of these GnR songs will be in it but also as a separate discounted pack :fp:

Was on Reddit, I think I saw it. Not exactly reliable so take with an entire salt shaker for now.

I only like their 80s stuff so it's highly likely even if we did get them, we wouldn't get that era :(

If we can get them and Arcade Fire this year

Arcade Fire is the big one for me - I'm hoping it's either a standalone game or a full album(that isn't their latest) though.

At best I'm expecting a 3 pack with one of the songs being from their new album.

But in reality we will get 1 song if we're lucky  hopefully not off the new album

So Blitz has been removed from sale now. Hopefully RB4 gets another expansion including a sequel to the arcade game

I could never get into Blitz but the soundtrack was second to none. Worth the price I paid for the 25 songs I got.

This Weeks DLC: VARIETY HOUR!
At Harmonix we believe that variety is the spice of life, so this week we’re offering up some extra spicy DLC. We’re featuring tracks from hot UK rockers Catfish And The Bottlemen and legendary guitar icon Ted Nugent, with songs from both acts joining the platform.

Featured in Rock Band VR, “Postpone” is a strong track from Catfish And The Bottlemen’s latest album The Ride. Topping the UK Albums chart and reaching 28 on the Billboard 200, The Ride surpassed their debut album’s performances on both sides of the ocean. We chose “Postpone” off the album because it sounded great in Rock Band VR and is tons of fun. It’s a well-rounded song with vocals pulling a bit ahead in terms of challenge. Pounding drums and pulsing bass hold up a chordy guitar line that travels around during the verses. When the song transitions to the chorus, the instruments begin a gallop, before opening up for the second half of the chorus.

The lead single and first track on Ted Nugent’s debut solo album, “Stranglehold” is every inch the perfect introduction to his career, a veritable guitar gauntlet end-to-end. Within 8 minutes, the song has three guitar solos, with one of them being several minutes long, often considered one of the best guitar solos of all time. But there’s no worries about the other instruments being left out, as bass even has its own solo featured. Drums ride the hi-hat through the whole song, but there’s scattered tough drum fills everywhere. The vocals largely aren’t sang by Ted Nugent, instead being predominantly Derek St. Holmes. That being said, Ted Nugent still sings a verse in the track.

Songs can be purchased individually for £1.59 each. The Rock Band Rivals Season 2 Spotlight Pass can be purchased for £10.79.

  • Catfish And The Bottlemen - "Postpone"
  • Ted Nugent - "Stranglehold" (Part of the Rock Band Rivals Season 2 Spotlight Pass)

Easy pass there into silver. Should be simple enough for the next two weeks as well. It would be nice if for season three they placed people in tiers based on previous performance instead of lumping everyone back to bronze - would save a few weeks of coasting for the better bands.

Inspired by Ted Nugent (who is an unbearable banana split by the way, look him up :dread: ) I've been looking into which songs from older guitar hero games are available on Rock Band, and have come up with the following from the first four games(not including the bonus songs by local bands, although one or two of which did actually make it over):

I'm hoping we'll get it in a legacy track pack one day. Cracking fun to try and sing along to in German - Du Hast is a much better song but less fun to gibber along with. :slol:

To be honest, having looked through the track listings for the first four Guitar Hero games there are only maybe seven or eight songs I'd love to have on Rock Band that aren't already there - One by Metallica(and maybe Trapped Under Ice but I can take or leave that), Knights of Cydonia by Muse, Vicarious, Schism and Parabola by Tool, Beat It by Jacko, Them Bones by Alice In Chains and Cochise by Audioslave. It's impressive how well Harmonix managed to undermine the Guitar Hero series when they left it - they really made it look sub-standard with Rock Band's quality.

wow that must have taken ages to put together.

I think The Wings (album) version of Band on the Run is also available now. Shortly after Rock Band 3's release and the John Lennon album DLC there was 3 or so tracks from Paul McCartney added (previously it was only the live songs from his solo tour - RB2 era I think). Band on the Run is one I thikn that has two versions in Rock Band.

I didn't realise Guitar Hero had Jimi Hendrix, I thought he was exclusive to Rock Band. Weirdly I think it's people like Michael Jackson and other groups I want more in Rock Band now :slol: that pop hero thing they brought out had quite a few tracks on it

It took about an hour to be fair - all the info is at the click of a button on Wikipedia.

Rival's Challenge - Season 2: Week 2

twitter.com/RockBand/status/903044702898933760

Spotlights:
  • .38 Special - Caught Up In You (Rock Band 4 disc song)
  • The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Long Hot Summer Night (DLC, December 20th 2011. Single also included in the "Experience Jimi Hendrix 01" pack)
  • Ted Nugent - Stranglehold (this weeks DLC, also free for owners of the "Season 2 Spotlight Pass")

Play weekly themed songs on guitar to earn an XP bonus. Apparently weekly themed songs this week are... "It is not all songs. It's a bunch of iconic riffs and a bunch of fun stuff. Very minimal alt-charting (I think maybe three are predominantly alt-charts?)."

If nobody has the Hendrix tune then I'll buy it. I have several of his songs on my wish list already.
Should be another easy week. It's not as if my scores mean anything any more, with the new guy tearing it up  :(
