Here's hoping.
I wouldn't mind there being an indie week, to coincide with the new DLC. I can play all my Oasis and everything 8-)

AUGUST IN FULL:
The full list of content coming to Rock Band in August is as follows:

INTRODUCING THE ROCK BAND SEASON 2 SPOTLIGHT PASS!
Brand new to Rock Band this month – a season pass to select, new Rock Band DLC. Each week for the duration of the season (eight weeks), players who purchase the Season 2 Spotlight Pass will be granted a permanent entitlement to whichever new release is featured as a Spotlight Song in that week’s Rivals Mode challenge (a total of eight songs). The Season 2 Spotlight Pass will cost $13.49 and be available for purchase beginning August 24 on both Xbox One and PlayStation®4 for the duration of Rivals Season 2, which ends on October 17, 2017.

http://forums.harmonixmusic.com/discuss ... light-pass

£10.79 here I think - £1.35 per song (24p discount per song)

And it looks like after this final week of Season 1, we have a 2 week hiatus before Season 2 starts. Let's get recruiting :datass:

Spotlight pass? :dread: :dread: :dread:

Confirmation that season 2 will continue the terrible trend of "this week's DLC is Spotlight!"

RE: DLC - Might get Stupid Girl, but it depends on the tabbing

EDIT: also just seen the top bands get to pick a challenge theme for season 2 so expect some absolute shite

The Spotlight pass runs till the end of the season, so for people who don't want to buy blind then you can wait until the very end. All songs will be sold a la carte too and this will never change. It's just a new thing that Harmonix are trying out. Also you do permanently own any songs you get from a pass, it's not a rental system like Live or PSN

It's 8 weeks and 8 new songs as spotlight, so that means the other two each week will either be on disc, freebies, or rewinds from older discs I guess.

I'm getting all of them this month :shifty: although I'm torn with Ted Nugent because he is a bit of a dick

And expect metal themes then :dread:

Worst challenge week ever :dread:

Basically songs that nobody likes then :shifty:

I think I only have a few of the songs in the theme.

Just under 40 songs here, the vast majority are disc based.

Probably the same for me too. I tried playing last night but Xbox wasn't letting me buy DLC or stay online for a whole song so I switched off and never got a chance to check how many I had to play from.

Maybe it'll work in our favour as most people (?) will be in the same position.

I somehow have about 70 songs, even The Jam counts as "unknown artists" :fp: american music is obviously awful

I might pick up the 3rd spotlight song tomorrow, it sounds a bit like Nine Inch Nails. I think we could get a promotion :shifty:

We have just gone from the top 2% of the player base to the top 1% now

This week we are currently 69th for spotlight and 195th for XP.

I'm going to put hard/expert drum scores in for all 3 songs on Tuesday which should put us in the promotion zone for spotlight score. And I'll have a few friends over to help grind XP. Hopefully that's good enough for a promotion!

From a complete guess, it looks like we need to be in the top 10% of this league. With 429 teams now in this league, that means we need to be a least 43rd?

I wish they were unknown. Horrible band, led by a bastard.

I'll get on today for vocal scores and try to put a few thousand XP away.

Anyway, shoved in a couple of top tier scores for the first two songs and a gold star for the Ministry song, which is pretty horrible to sing I thought. Will try and get some more XP but can't promise anything. I think all we need now is solid drum scores and a fuckton of XP and we're good!

Nice one. That Ministry song is tricky aye. It hasn't got any of those freestyle vocal lines, I forgot what it was like before they were added

I think my friend will be able to get us another 100k-200k from the drum scores tomorrow and I'll try and get some more from the guitar scores the next two days.

I wish you could see the full leaderboard easily, only being able to see 5 or so crews ahead of you makes it hard to judge

We currently have Buff chipping away at XP. He is taking us up a few places every time he finishes a song :toot:

And there's a 2 week break I think before Season 2 starts, so hopefully you'll have your xbox 360 controller adapter by then :datass:
