I'm gonna sound ungrateful saying this but I absolutely don't want these ten free songs. They're simply not songs I want in my library, which already has a lot of guff in it.

As far as I know they’re downloads for everyone and not part of a patch so you don’t have to download them.

Not sure you’ll be able to pick and chose from the 10 though but Xbox One you ha e to download songs seperately so I guess you could do it that way. Also Rock Band has a rating and filter system... filter the guff with 1 star and then use the “hide 1 star rating” filter to hide them (this can work with disc songs and any of song in your library)

It's more about the fact that I'll compulsively have to 100% them on vocals if I download them - once I've gone through them it's fine and I don't have to hide them, but I hate having no stars, white stars, or a rating under 100% on any of my vocal songs.

I actually quite like some of the bands in this pack, I think I only ever bought one (Bang Camaro) of the ten on 360 RBN

Talking of RBN, if you sort library by source, these 10 songs will appear under a new heading called Rock Band Network rather than recently downloaded. Could mean that we might see more songs from RBN come over to this gens consoles

Oh that'd be excellent. I had Blue(da ba dee) and a few Seether songs off the network that I really wanted to bring over.

Is it that crappy country song I downloaded at the weekend? Fancy using that as a song to represent 2000s :fp: that’s the first dud in this seasons pass, another one and I won’t buy the next pass

Me too, I think I picked up about 15 of the 2000 odd songs they released  they’re mostly not my kind of music though (various forms of metal). The few I did buy look like they were released on the PS3 too though so if any do make it in to RB4 those ones look like good bets

I don't ever even bother downloading those freebies. I only usually get Rock Band out during parties, and no-one ever goes 'oh let's play that Honest Bob and the Factory-to-Dealer Incentives song!'

Whoever picks the spotlight songs for these challenges needs to take a long hard look at themselves.

the last few challenges have been pretty awful and along with being insanely busy it's killed my enthusiasm for it completely.

I have the pass so I can put in some scores for QotSA hopefully, although I have people over from 9 tonight until about 11pm next Tuesday :slol: but I'm off so can put in an all nighter on Tuesday night when they've gone to make up for being AWOL

Yeah, the last few challenges have all been reasonably bad picks and it’s a really lazy theme for the whole season, so I’m pretty much the same - It kind of shows how bad the DLC has been for the past few years if the spotlight tunes 9 times out of 10 are all just bad songs.

Doesn’t help that the rewards are pretty shite, too so there’s no real reason to bother grinding to get up to bloodstone. Not sure I’ll be much use for season 4 unless they really shake it up.

I mean, the DLC hasn't been crap for years, that's a wild exaggeration. There is some good, some not good. Same as it's always been.

But I do agree that season three hasn't been fantastic. Hopefully season 4 shakes it up a little more.

Isn't this week's DLC the first time we've had three whole songs in ages, too? :shifty:

Rival's Challenge - Season 3: Week 8

twitter.com/RockBand/status/941397459590410240

Spotlights:
  • Catfish and the Bottlemen - Cocoon (DLC)
  • Eddie Japan - Albert (Rock Band 4 disc song)
  • Portugal. The Man - Feel It Still (this weeks DLC, also free for owners of the "Season 3 Spotlight Pass")

Playing songs released since RB4 launch (including the RB4 disc songs and RB3 disc export) count towards this weeks challenge.

DLC 14/12/2017: OFF THE CHARTS PACK 06!
Off The Charts 06 is here! This week we have fresh hits from the radio charts!

“Attention” was released earlier this year as a single from Charlie Puth’s upcoming second studio album Voicenotes and has been the most successful song for Puth to date. It went to #1 on several charts in half a dozen countries and is in the top 10 of charts in over 20 countries total. Vocals will be extremely tough on this dulcet pop tune. What may seem like a laid-back melody really just demonstrate Puth’s wide vocal range. There are sweet harmonies mixed in as well. Bass has a funk groove that moves through the neck. Guitar alternates between staccato melodic picking and light rhythmic comping. Drums maintain a relaxed beat throughout the song.

Speeding up the tempo a bit, we turn to “Sorry Not Sorry” by Demi Lovato. The song went to #1 in the US and Belgium, charted in the top 10 in over a dozen countries, and is certified double platinum in the US and Canada. Lovato's performance gives us a carefree, lighthearted take on a revenge song. Her pop vocals will definitely be tough; there are fast rhythms with tons of movement throughout the song. The rhythm section grooves on the pop chord changes, heating up when the choruses break.

“Thunder” is the second single off Imagine Dragon’s third studio album Evolve released this past spring. Since then, the song hit #1 across 4 different Billboard charts and has made significant waves globally. It has gone double and triple platinum in 4 countries while holding platinum in every other country it’s certified. This song immediately makes you move. Drums and bass are the solid foundation in this song keeping the beat and groove going. Vocals have some fun with rich harmonies and guitar takes a nice outro solo.

“Feel It Still” by Portugal. The Man is a testament to old musical styles that has empowered the group and other artists today. It harnesses a '60s psychedelic pop vibe meshed with a funk groove. The song hit #1 on several different US charts and broke the record for the longest stay as #1 song on the US Alternative Songs chart. It’s certified platinum and gold in 10 countries. The song revolves around an extremely fun groove to play on bass and drums. Vocals sing sweetly over the top with guitar layered accenting the groove with fills.

Off The Charts Pack 06 will be available for £5.59. Songs can be purchased individually for £1.59 each. The Rock Band Rivals Season 3 Spotlight Pass can be purchased for £10.79.

  • Charlie Puth - "Attention"
  • Demi Lovato - "Sorry Not Sorry"
  • Imagine Dragons - "Thunder"
  • Portugal. The Man - "Feel It Still" (Part of the Rock Band Rivals Season 3 Spotlight Pass)

Mostly awful DLC but feel It Still is so good, from my favourite album this year  and QotSA the other week from another of my fav albums it's been a pretty good year

strawberry float me this Eddie Japan track is hard on vocals. I missed a single phrase midway and was just off gold stars. I’m obviously doing overdrive in the wrong places :?
