Cry me a river, Ad.

RB1 was the best Rock Band (soundtrack-wise).

And it was back when they used to care about Europe:

If anyone's interested it's Daft Punk and Outkast this week. Not exactly rock bands but I really like both the songs. Also Kelly Clarkson.

Got a bit excited they'd stuck Aerodynamic in then. I know there's no vocal track but imagine the rest of it :datass:

Should've known better. Hope it's the radio edit and not the boring six minute long album version, though :shifty:

It's the radio edit, looks terribad on drums though but I guess it's more for the vocalists that one.

Also getting the following Artists in February:
  • Bruno Mars
  • Five Finger Death Punch
  • Generation X
  • J. Geils Band
  • Joan Jett and the Blackhearts
  • masaya matsuura
  • Motörhead
  • Orleans
  • Royal Blood
  • Zac Brown Band

The Rock Band 1 export is working on Xbox, you go to "manage games" area and scroll all the way over to the right and they'll all be waiting to queue up along with any other songs you haven't downloaded but are entitled to (the only good thing from the last Xbox redesign)

Should get the January update this week also.

February's DLC is already a write-off then ;) Expecting good things from the guitar track on whatever Royal Blood song they pick.

At least Royal Blood songs sound a bit like there's a guitar in there somewhere, so there shouldn't be that disconnect you feel when you're playing, say, a piano track.

They've strawberry floated this up a bit in the last patch.

Play a Show mode was my go to place whenever I played and to appease the score whores they've changed a lot of it so scores can be posted to the leaderboards in that mode :fp:

And this weeks DLC (Outkast and Daft Punk) looks terrible (both songs end on fade outs) so I'll probably not load the game up for a long while now.

Where are they up to with the exporting of previous games?

RB3: Works on XB1, PS4 America and PS4 Europe.
Green Day: Works on XB1 and PS4 America (I think Europe is still delayed).
Rock Band Blitz: Works on XB1, PS4 America and PS4 Europe.
RB1: Works on XB1, PS4 America. PS4 Europe still not working.
RB2: Due next. Visable on the XB1 Store. Likely up on PS4 Store also but Sony has the ability to hide content so it's not visable or searchable. Not possible to download on any system yet.
Lego RB: Due after RB2. Visable on the XB1 Store. Likely up on PS4 Store also but Sony has the ability to hide content so it's not visable or searchable. Not possible to download on any system yet.
Beatles: Not ever exporting obviously.
AC/DC and any other track packs: Not possible to download on any system yet. Track packs will be coming after Microsoft and Sony get the entitlements to the disc exports working. Disc exports work slightly differently to Disc track packs (track pack codes still work if you can find a new unused copy and work like regular DLC - Disc exports are all expired and will only be available to people who have already purchased the right to export them)
De-listed DLC: Regular DLC tracks that are not available to buy any more. Coming after disc exports, likely after the track packs.

I don't think I've missed anything out.

Playing the RB1 songs again was a blast. I only played through a few but they nearly all seem to have freestyle vocals and guitar solos on them. Nearly all of them have crowd sing-a-longs and big rock endings too  I guess they were the cool new feature at the time and so were applied to everything :slol:

If you have old controllers and don't need any new hardware then you should check out eBay for the game and adapter. I've been looking at them recently to get a second adapter and they seem to sell for £20-£30 which is worth it for anybody still on the fence.

My guitar is too old - a wired RB1 version - so I have to get new hardware. eBay is a good shout, when RB2 and Lego shows up.

Yeh RB3 was really good. The only disappointment in the set list for me is the James Brown track (isn't it an alternative version? Or was that the DC track?) I'm guessing because the original masters are lost/damaged/unusable

RB3 was great for the gamer, but terrible for Harmonx and Viacom. The set list really need to be 50 odd songs but instead it's nearly double  riding off the high of RB2 when the genre was at its height and by the time RB3 came out the market wasn't there for such a big title

Re: the Madcatz story... They've been in money trouble for a while now I wonder if that's going to be it?

Lots of DLC this week. With 6 of the 10 announced artists down and with 2 weeks left I guess it's safe to assume one band has a three pack, the other three make a theme week.

The fact that there's so many songs on the disc means there's a lot of rubbish that doesn't really work on a music game in there though, too. Amy Winehouse, that Primus track ( :dread: ), most of the poor quality punk stuff (One Armed Scissor is such a shoddy sounding track) and that Phish tune. Good lord.

Plus they introduced the keyboard and featured 30 songs that didn't use it.

Shame about this Mad Catz situation, but they did a pretty poor job of marketing/selling RB4 and it's various peripherals so I can't imagine that helped them much...
