strawberry floating RIGHT! WHAT A SONG! :D

The hope is that the alt-rock genre post-2003 is what's coming up this week, in which case it will be the spotlight as I think the other one classes as country.

We’re up! The premier league baby!

Looks like I got second place vocals, and third for vocals XP in diamond

EDIT: Broken confirmed to be the spotlight song btw Frank - excellent news and potentially good for next week's challenge. Final push for the top 100? Think we're all a bit burned out on RB but we've really done well this season.

DLC hasn't been for me this season, I've only picked up about 6 songs since New Year!

Nice one on the promotion! and congrats on your medal places Cora! It will be cool to see the scores required to reach the very top as we have only ever got this far in the last week. We must be in the top 70 teams now?

If 30 teams went up then yeah, we’re one of 70 in the top league. I don’t know if we’ll actually move into the top 70 on seasonal rivals points, but the fact that we have a week to mess around in Bloodstone is awesome. Let’s see how far we can take it. :D

I can't see our overall position on the app, has anyone checked the in game leaderboard or hasn't it updated yet?

I noticed that we moved up to the top 2% (about 140-160 teams) after last weeks close effort for promotion so we should surely be in the top 100 teams overall now?!

The app hasn’t updated - looks like it’s showing last weeks results and probably will until someone from Harmonix shows up for work in a few hours.

I’d expect us to have a numerical placement now as we’re getting nearly 500 points for going up - hopefully we’ll find out soon! I’m at work so can’t check on the Xbox sadly.

Season 4 Week 8 challenge:
It's the final week and GRcade have already made it in to the top league!

twitter.com/RockBand/status/966492895988641794

This weeks Xbox Sale:
5 DLC songs matching the weekly theme have been discounted recently, no idea what this weeks 5 are (if there are 5 on sale at all!)

Complete Spotlight Season 4 Pass (last week to buy it):
All songs will remain on sale individually and in their packs, however this is the last week to purchase the Season 4 bundle at a discounted rate before it's removed from sale when the Season 4 competition ends (February 27th!).

Songs included with the Season 4 Spotlight Pass:
  • Billy Squier - "Lonely Is The Night"
  • Blue Swede - "Hooked on a Feeling"
  • Coldplay - "A Sky Full Of Stars"
  • Depeche Mode - "Enjoy the Silence"
  • Matchbox Twenty - "Unwell"
  • Nine Days - "Absolutely (Story of a Girl)"
  • Seether ft. Amy Lee - "Broken"
  • Shania Twain - "That Don't Impress Me Much"
  • Skid Row - "18 and Life"
  • Skid Row - "I Remember You"

DLC Delists:
A couple more songs are not being renewed to be kept on sale, so this is the last change to buy these tracks before they're removed. You will still be able to download and play these in the future f you have already bought them, or are about to buy them. Warning! These are due to be taken down by March 2nd, but Sony and Microsoft manage the stores and so these songs could disappear sooner or be kept up for sale beyond the cut off date, if you want these then make sure you grab them in case they come down sooner than anticipated!

The following will be removed by March 2nd:
  • Red Hot Chili Peppers - "Give It Away" (this one is also DLC for Rock Band VR on the Rift and will be removed from sale on that platform also!)
  • Toto - "Rosanna"

Entire RBN DLC Delisted:
The entire RBN catalog is coming down from the store on 360 and PS3. These were unofficially official DLC released for RB2 and RB3 and the catalog comprises of over 2000 songs at various price points. Again while these are being removed from future purchase, you'll still be able to play them on the previous gen's Rock Bands if you already own them. These songs will not be coming to RB4 so only buy them if you are playing on the older games. If these tracks do ever make it to RB4 then they will be purchasable on a different licence (not like official DLC which you get for free), or as was the case with the 10th Anniversary DLC pack, a select bunch of songs will be released for free for RB4. These songs are due to be removed by the end of the month.

Dropping-in mid-song will be good for our Bant of Brothers sessions. Setlist length options is a good thing, too!

Also new loading screen backgrounds yes 8-) Still miss the cutscenes they had in Rock Band 3 between sets on the tour.

I think the last heavily requested Rock Band thing is multiple people playing online from the same console, so maybe now the latest lobbies/auto join additions are there then that's next... Then I think the online portion is feature complete and ahead of the older titles even.

That True Confessional song has killed any chance I had of competing for a badge this week - it’s ludicrously tough to get a top score on.

You're only in the top 1% of people of the top league... That's truly awful and your place on the team will need to be re-evaluated. ;)

I'm not sure where that song is from but according to the app I have it so I'll give it a go. I'm sure if you get a chance at it again another day then you'll improve on it, I find on vocals I can be absolutely appalling at scoring and the next day get 100%. Did you just miss one section or a few places?

It's on Rivals, Bido.

I have failed Bant of Brothers, please remove me from the team. :(

The song itself is fine, not overly difficult and a decent 80s-esque pop tune. It's the overdrive route for best score - it requires the counter-intuitive double act of activating the overdrive early on to avoid hitting another OD phrase for one activation and for three of the four activations not singing the first half of the phrase, activating overdrive, then "squeezing" the whole pie out of the second half of the phrase. The margins for badges this week will be in the hundreds or possibly even tens of points so it is going to be extremely tough to compete given that I'm 1,400 off the pace here! :slol:

We are doing surprisingly well this week in the top group. I guess a lot of people must give up when they reach the highest tier? Hopefully I can get some time in before Tuesday to add to our play count total

OK. Hoping for a medal of some description this week. With a day and a bit left of the challenge I'm top of the leaderboard for Open Water by 8 points(that will be beaten before tomorrow night), 24 points off the top score on Broken and 204 off the top score for True Confessional. There's no guarantee that the scores above me for the last one were put down this week either.

Did a bit of analysis this morning to see what the current differences between the top few vocalists were - this probably won't be interesting to anyone at all, but it's been really interesting to see what margins you're operating at in the top league. 136 points separates first from fifth, and only 28 points separates 2nd from 4th, assuming that all leaderboard scores were put in during the challenge time. It will be a tight finish, for sure!

1. RJUCPU 234,296(True Confessional) +187,448(1st - Broken) +174,320(Open Water) - 596,064
2. Auracle X 234,304(1st) +187,424 + 174,272 - 596,000
3. Killercain7 234,280 + 187,420 + 174,284 - 595,984
4. Navy Cherub 234,180 + 187,428 + 174,364 - 595,972
5. Corazon le Leon 234,092 + 187,420 + 174,416(1st) - 595,928

Is there an actual leaderboard separate for the weekly Rivals scores or is it simply the overall leaderboard? The way I've read people discussing Rivals scores before made it sound like there's a leaderboard for the week somewhere but I've never seen it myself.

My understanding is that the best three scores for the week will be entered for each player to make up the leaderboard, so there’s a weekly leaderboard that sits separately - I’ve made extrapolations based on the assumption that all of those players’ scores were input this week.

DLC this week is Imagine Dragons and Spin Doctots - Two Princes. Can’t link but am happy with more LRB content!

strawberry floating hell, spent hours trying to grind my way into third place and a guy has come out of nowhere to take the outright lead in one song, share my record in the second and be fourth off the lead in the third. By my reckoning I’m third with a couple of hours left, and about 4 points in it...

EDIT - Looks like 4th place. I gave it pretty much everything I had though, no regrets. :D
