I really enjoyed the multiplayer games we've had. Hopefully it can be a regular thing.

Yeh it's been good! Makes grinding out XP feel better as it shoots uo a lot quicker with 4 people at once

I seem to get weird lag when playing online though unless it's me streaming. The hitbox feels all over the place. Or I'm just gooseberry fool and trying to find excuses :slol:

Re: x8 and a minute of overdrive. A simple song like yellow is easier to keep x4 streak. Cos we can see when to activate the overdrive!

I have Yellow so can do that. I swore we got x4 on the first song and the 60 second one we did too a few songs later. Weird.

This Weeks Challenge

[instagram]http://instagram.com/p/BQRZ6Y6h5l-/[/instagram]

DLC WEEK OF 2/7: PACK À TROIS!
We’ve got another Valentine’s Day(ish) treat, the “Pack à Trois”, coming this week, is guaranteed to help you through this Hallmark Holiday, no matter what your feelings are. Rock Band will love you no matter what.

The first song in the pack is Cake’s version of “I Will Survive”. Changing the style from disco to more of a rock vibe, it was the first of many successful singles off Fashion Nugget, Cake’s second album. The guitar chart will occasionally have the trumpet authored, giving it a solid chart full of variety. Being a cover, singers may find they’re throwing themselves off, as it’s just different enough. And in a rare showing, the bass is the highlight of the song, with a super fun chart AND a bass solo!

“Want To Want Me” marks the first Jason Derulo track to join the Rock Band platform. The lead single from Everything is 4, “Want To Want Me” peaked at #6 on the Hot 100 and was named Time Magazine’s third-best song of 2015. The song also performed incredibly well in the UK, debuting at the top of the UK Singles Chart and staying there for four weeks. The drums feature a disco beat throughout, keeping you active. Over on strings, a funky guitar line mixes in with synth lines for a great-sounding part. Continuing this week’s tradition, the bass is incredibly active and is the tougher strings chart. There’s even plenty of vocal improvisation to be found, especially on harmonies.

We head back to the ‘80s for the final song in the pack, Simple Minds’ “Don’t You (Forget About Me)”. The iconic #1 hit everyone knows from The Breakfast Club, “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” quickly ingrained itself in pop culture, becoming frequently covered by other artists and featured in movies and TV. A galloping bass pushes the song along, while the guitar is more subtle and wet with effects, giving the song some tricky verse riffs that guitarists will have to practice to master. The vocals may surprise you, as Jim Kerr puts subtle changes on every line, so singers will have to focus.

The “Pack à Trois” will be available for $5.49. Each track can be purchased individually for $1.99 each.
  • Cake - "I Will Survive"
  • Jason Derulo - "Want To Want Me"
  • Simple Minds - "Don't You (Forget About Me)"

That leaves just one song left this month for those of us who have already exported previous Rock Band soundtracks :(

Don't try and spin this as a positive for god's sake just admit if you can't track the instrument you're playing properly it's a terrible choice for a song :x

This is not the Harmonix that I used to love.

Honestly it's a dreadful version of the song too. Cannot stand the guy's vocal style. Just sounds like they've dragged someone off the street to read the lyrics off a hastily scribbled sheet of paper.

Also wasn't Bethany a spotlight song the other week, too?

Wot. :|

Agree with the trumpet being charted though, that kind of thing really takes me out of the moment when I'm playing guit.

He's always slightly out of time and it just sounds weird. "And so... you're. back... fromouterspace". Like I get that he doesn't want it to sound exactly like the original but changing the timing so it doesn't fit with the music isn't the way to do it. Nor is changing the lyrics to throw a few "strawberry float"s in there.

I don't like Short Skirt/Long Jacket, either. He sings like he doesn't want to be there.

Sorry but Cake's version is awesome. Shame about the Guitar part being nothing special.

It's definitely on the list of "covers that aren't as good as the original", though :shifty:

It'll probably be all anti love songs, the very first challenge when Rivals came out were songs with "love" in the title so I doubt they'll repeat that. So this week will probably be pretty much most Valentines packs in years gone by, this weeks 3 songs and those 3 spotlight songs etc.
