I know Heart is on RB4 and macklemore is this week’s DLC so Harvey Danger is £1.59 on xbox.com but I can’t see if it was part of Rivals. EDIT: Yes it part of rivals.

On the other side, Harmonix have finalised the last of the RB VR song lists and Pearl Jam Alive is in it which is suprising. No new songs that immediately grabs me so just Champagne Supernova!

Good chance the songs with RB1, RB2 and LEGO in brackets will come out as regular DLC for anyone who missed those exports. Looks like they may even bring some RB3 songs out as regular DLC too even though you can still export the disc if you are lucky to have a copy.

So many new songs though :o I hope they make the jump as I'd love some The Temper Trap and more from bands like The Pretty Reckless, Oasis, Catfish and the Bottlemen, The Black Keys

It's PAX this weekend, so I expect the final 19 RB:VR songs to be announced, a road map for the rest of the updates included with RB:Rivals, possibly a season 2 expansion (it was this time last year that they announced Rivals and that multiplayer was coming with it)

Rock Band VR: Campaign details
You know what goes great with epic music? An epic story. Rock Band VR Producer Katie Naka is here to tell you a bit more about Rock Band VR’s immersive campaign.

Image

Hi! My name is Katie Naka and I am a Producer and writer for the Rock Band VR Narrative and Character/Crowd teams. Bringing the characters of RBVR to life via a scripted narrative was a fun and exciting challenge for us, and a first for the Rock Band franchise. Since our goal with VR gameplay was to provide the player with as authentic an experience as possible, we wanted to do the same with our narrative. I can tell you that our first draft of the story probably contained enough material for a full length animated film. From that huge grouping of ideas, we pulled what we considered “the greatest hits” and made the scenes that we knew we could pull off really well in VR. Our process from start to finish involved many written drafts, many visits to the motion capture studio, and a lot of travel to L.A. to cast and record our voice over with awesome and talented voice actors. The final result shows your bandmates (Derek, Maddy, and Wes) as unique characters with relationships to each other and you that are revealed over the course of your band Autoblaster’s journey from playing dirty local bars to decadent theaters.

Image

One of the early, important writing decisions we made was about tone. In the early days of the process the team dissected our favorite music, movies, and documentaries to find examples of what we thought were the most potent and realistic types of stories that we could portray in VR. Since many of the devs at Harmonix have also been in bands, we had a lot of firsthand knowledge about how bandmates relate to each other. To us, some of the best and most realistic interactions of a band were revealed through conflict. With RBVR, we not only wanted to show you how awesome it feels to play for adoring fans, but also give you the intimate experience of being “in the huddle” for moments of discord and insecurity that inevitably pop up along the way.

Image

An extra twist to the RBVR story is that it unfolds in a non-linear way as you progress through the campaign. The present day that you find yourself in when you start the game is the day of your biggest show yet. Each narrative moment that you’ll experience while playing RBVR is attached to an item that the band has stored in their practice space- all keepsakes from particularly memorable shows. The narrative essentially takes place in a series of flashbacks, as if the band is sitting around reminiscing about their favorite moments from the past three years. We think it’s a fun convention that adds some extra agency to how players will interact with and take in each cut scene and band performance.

Image

The story of Autoblaster has a little bit of everything; moments of realism that we hope will surprise players emotionally, bizarre non-sequiturs, and hilarious rock ‘n roll tropes that you never thought you’d be able experience firsthand. No matter what show you play in the Rock Band VR campaign, you’ll find yourself in the midst of unique and memorable characters (whether they’re human, animal, or sentient machine) that make each show something special. We can’t wait for players to check it out!

Sony Europe

Green Day is fixed a month early, so if you exported the regular Green Day disc in the past, or the Green Day Plus disc then you can go download the soundtrack now. It was meant to be fixed in April, so maybe they're ahead of schedule now. This month is meant to be LEGO Rock Band.

They are currently showing as free so you can go download "buy" them while you can

Green Day export pack (44 songs)

For Everyone

DLC WEEK OF 3/14: DANGER ZONE
Yeah. "Danger Zone".

Iconic '80s songs don’t get much bigger than Kenny Loggins' "Danger Zone". Taken from one of the best-selling soundtracks of all-time, "Danger Zone" peaked at #2 on the Hot 100 and cemented Kenny Loggins' status as the King of '80s soundtracks. The song (co-penned by disco pioneer Giorgio Moroder) has become a pop culture staple and true anthem. As for gameplay - the bassline is definitely challenging. There’s a guitar solo, with HOPO runs after the first two choruses. Vocal runs abound, though never overwhelm. The drums need a persistent, quick right hand. Welcome to the "Danger Zone".

"Danger Zone" can be purchased individually for $1.99.

We’ve even brought a special guest in for our DLC video this week.

Rock Band VR
Image

Rock Band VR is just days away from being available on Oculus Rift! On March 23rd, it’s time to grab your guitar, get on stage and show the world what you’re made of. As you master Rock Band VR’s new performance gameplay and make your way through Rock Band’s most immersive campaign ever you’ll develop your own signature sound as you play through one of the best Rock Band soundtracks we’ve ever released. With that, it’s time to reveal the final 19 tracks

Of course, when it comes to Rock Band, the great music doesn’t end with the soundtrack – let’s talk DLC. Rock Band VR will receive additional tracks so that you’ll always have great new music to master. First up are six tracks from Aerosmith which will be available for $2.99 per track in the Oculus Store:
  • Aerosmith – “Angel”
  • Aerosmith – “Crazy”
  • Aerosmith – “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing”
  • Aerosmith – “Janie's Got A Gun”
  • Aerosmith – “Livin' On The Edge”
  • Aerosmith – “Rag Doll”

Aerosmith is one of the greatest bands of all time and these six tracks (in addition to “Walk This Way” from the core soundtrack) would make the perfect setlist for you to channel your inner rock star and work the virtual stage.

back to three songs a week :datass:

DLC WEEK OF 3/21: ROCK BAND VR TRACKS!
To celebrate the impending release of Rock Band VR, we’re releasing several of the songs from the setlist as Rock Band 4 DLC! Check out Rock Band VR this Thursday, March 23rd, on Oculus Rift.

Leading the charge is Kings of Leon, with “Use Somebody”. A huge hit for the band, it became only the fourth song ever to top the Triple A, Adult Top 40, Mainstream Top 40, AND Alternative Songs charts. In the UK, it’s had 77 weeks on the UK Top 75, 40 of those weeks being consecutive after release. It then won three Grammy awards and was nominated for a fourth! The strings are a little more laid-back in the song, giving room to Caleb Followill’s signature singing style. But the drums have lots of variety and will keep you busy throughout.

“I Will Wait” from award-winning UK artist Mumford & Sons is a welcome addition to both Rock Band VR and the Rock Band 4 Music Library. The lead single from Babel, it is the band’s biggest hit, selling over 2 million copies in the US over a period of just eight months. Rolling Stone dubbed it the 13th best song of 2012 at year’s end, further proven by its chart performance, where it remains the highest-charting single by the band. The guitar chart is very difficult, going from acoustic strumming to more intense banjo playing. Dense harmonies also provide a challenge, keeping everyone on their toes.

Wrapping up the week is OneRepublic’s “Counting Stars”. Taken from their first top 10 album, Native, “Counting Stars” peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song also sold over 5 million copies in the US, while the music video has been watched over 1.70 BILLION times on YouTube. That’s a lot. The song is all about variety in gameplay. The drums have a lot going on, from assorted fills to disco beats. The vocals stretch across quite a large range, while the harmonies are featured throughout the song. The guitar part has a lot to do, never staying in one spot for too long.

Each track can be purchased individually for $1.99.
  • Kings of Leon – “Use Somebody”
  • Mumford & Sons – “I Will Wait”
  • OneRepublic – “Counting Stars”

6:20 Story Mode
7:11 First Set
16:30 Foo Fighters - Everlong
21:52 Second Set
26:54 Survivor - Eye of the Tiger

It looks so good :datass: I hope they bring that freestyle play over to the main game (minus the VR). I'm dangerously close to buying an Oculus Rift... it's less than £600 :shifty:

We got relegated last week :(

Sony Europe has caught up with Sony America and Xbox now for DLC. So everyone is waiting on the songs that have been removed from sale and we should all be at 100% after that (ignoring RBN)

God, I hate Harmonix some times. Ed Sheeran is DLC this week:

"When charting the song, we got to make some decisions that are rarely seen, like drums being predominantly made up of acoustic guitar percussion! It’s a fun change from the norm."

Stop choosing songs in the charts and choose songs that actually strawberry floating work on the instruments you've got you buffoons it really shouldn't be difficult.

"Fun change from the norm" :dread:

The DLC has really gone downhill since they started lowering their standards. I don't know if it's because they're running out of pre 2010s songs or that the modern stuff is the only thing that makes them money...

It's all pop too, so many great modern bands are ignored :fp:

:dread: Is that two DLC tracks in this week's challenge? I don't know why I'm still surprised

EDIT: On a lighter note, finally managed to five star Tom Sawyer on the drums. The song that broke my bass pedal back on the original Rock Band :slol:
