I really liked the demo of Darwinia but never found a retail version out here. :( Apparently they took out the system where you drew the symbol for what you wanted to build instead of pushing buttons, I thought that kind of sucks.

Actually, they originally simply patched in an alternative. I think the original unit build system is still in there and you can enable it from the menu.

It's in the first post.

Marshal Mind Crime. I like that 8-).

I guess this is the best place to ask: has anyone got Starcraft lying around and fancy a few games? I'll get on my high horse here and wager that not one of you will be able to come close to defeating me :o. Who dares prove me wrong?

I could install it in 2 mins, but you'll rape me so I'm not going to.

I'll see you in SC2.

Also anyone else like Defcon, it's by the same developer I believe, and it's just so simple yet so much fun.
...

Ahh, Darwinia. I remember waiting for the release of that beauty, fantastic game. Well worth hunting down (or go for the cop out Steam install).

Never got round to buying Defcon, played the demo and enjoyed it, but it didn't quite grab me by the balls like Darwinia. Still, Multiwinia is on the way so i can patronise Introversion again.

I remember reading somewhere that Darwinia was getting an Xbox Live Marketplace release.

That was a good few months ago IIRC.

Yeah, a new version with Multiplayer though I think. Multiwinia

Apparently it started out that way, as part of an attempt to bring Darwinia to Live, but has since grown into it's own game since then.

Darwinia 2, essentially.

That's odd, I distinctly remember a PCG interview with Introvision saying that they don't do sequels.

Okay game up to that point though, I just wish my engineer assault at the start had been a bit more effective against Mark... I really exposed myself when that didn't work out as I had hoped, having sunk $3500 into it before even building up my defences properly.

Damnit, I would of been there to help, but I can't see Mark.

I saw you in the lobby fine though. Quick, to KP to fix it...

When he's back from school.

I might be up for another game tonight, but I'd like it to be an all-out war, alliances disabled.

I'll definitely be up for future games on the whole, since Hamachi works so well! Even if I have to use a VM and lag quite a bit...

You do realise, even with Alliances off Karl and Mark will still team up against everyone right? They'll just find a way of avoiding each other. From when I was sitting talking to them on vent, all I kept hearing about was Mark's wonderful Korov which made you waste a load of money on Air Defense. I don't even think it reached you because Kil's units started shooting it down.

Started playing Opposing Fronts properly for the first time (single player) over the weekend...well after I'd spent the majority of Saturday downloading and installing various patches just to get it to load.

Its an amazing game though, well worth it.

Red Alert 2, it owned.

Anuerin you do realise I only used the kirov as a distraction to make you waste resources on building anti air. It's possibly my favourite soviet tactic.

Cost of Kirov: 2000, wastes time on vehicle build queue.

Cost of 2x patriot missles and 4x IFVs: 4200

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

RTS is a genre I geuinely wish I was good at, but am utterly shite. I remember playing some monumentally unsuccessful rounds of Total Annihilation back the day, but never really got into them.

Was given C&C3 last year and tried to get into it, but can't get past more than a few levels before I get totally raped. I'm on a mission where I start off in a dilapidated based, then have to build an army, go out through hostile ground to meet a 'base-maker' on escort and escort it back safely, then hold off a massive subsequent attack.

I can barely get my foot in the door, let alone finish the level.

:(

Ah I remember that level. I had a hell of a time destroying the South East base that was on top of a ridge so the only way up there was by airlifting tanks and using Orcas. Took me ages to finally destroy them as every time they wiped out my tanks they'd rebuild their defences.
