I found some good routes today. Previously I was just sticking to the road but this time I went into the woods and ended up on a path that crosses through an airfield right next to the runway!

Ran 10 miles and still felt pretty good at the end but I was going much slower than i'd like as I was trying to keep to a low heart rate.

Tried a route around here thinking it would be 4 miles and it was only 2.7 :fp:

Thing is is so step around here that I get a different kinds of workout from it, but I can't get near my times. Blowing out my ass and only doing 8.30 a mile. Going to go down to the local park this lunch time to try to do a 6 mile or so on flat ground.

Cool story bro.

Signed up to a 10km towards the end of the month.

Aiming to beat 50 minutes but I've never run farther than 8km before so I'm not sure how I'll manage.

If you can do 8 you can easily do 10.

I wanted to do another 10 mile slow and easy run today, but my legs were hurting and it was way too hot so I ended up just doing a slow 5k instead.

Did knock another 15 seconds of my parkrun time yesterday, so it's down to 25:50. I had to walk for a bit had no energy after the 3rd time climbing the hill, so there's easily another 20 seconds to be gained next time ;)

Anyone here doing the Brighton marathon? My brother was aiming for sub 3, but got 3:01 Ouch!

Great Birmingham Run today :D.

I'm in the first wave with the elite runners !

Slightly worried about hills, as I do almost all of my training on very flat ground.

Cheers Mini E!

46 minutes, 14 seconds.

It was much harder than I was expecting. The sun came out to punish me and there were a lot of hills.

Feels good!

Hills are strawberry floaters. As in now running around home there are no flat bits any more, and I'm finishing runs absolutely shattered and I'm only doing 8.30 miles. It's an elevation change of 300 feet up and down the whole way :dread:

Easily done mate. I went from 5k to 15k in four weeks or so just pushing myself on the longer runs.

If you are running 5k at full effort then just try a really slow run instead and youll have no problem getting to 15k.

Good work, well done! I didn't even break the 30 minute barrier, my local parkrun is pretty damn hilly though
