True enough, but that was years ago. They replaced avatars with a shonky over-convoluted OS that they're revised literally...twice now? And a 3rd is on the way.
I will literally consider an Xbone X (that name ) despite not being a 4K owner if it speeds that horrific OS up.

It's still about ten times more responsive than PS OS, that feels like its been half made since PS3 came out. 50% chance the store, Netflix or WWE Network will actually work and currently my downloads just sit stuck at 'preparing to download' :simper: Can't play the new NMS update as yet with over 100gb free storage.

The exclusives are few and far between but I usually prefer to play multiplatform on X1 due to controller and far better install speeds (for me anyway).

The launch of Xbox One was a disaster that they are still reeling from, but I actually think they have done alright to recover room that and have a modest few years. I think their current model of occasional upgrades will keep them there or thereabouts, but they would need to offer something more unique if they want to grab hordes of customers back. After all come Christmas, Microsoft very realistically could find themselves in third place, unthinkable just a couple of years ago.

I think a lot of gamers getting bored of Halo and Gears isn't helping either. When you also consider Mario Kart Wii sold more copies then all the Halo games COMBINED, you realise they struggle to be system sellers in the same way.

In terms of console sales Microsoft did finish narrowly 3rd last gen (down from 2nd during the PS2/Xbox/Gamecube gen).

I expect Switch lifetime sales to vastly outnumber Xbox One sales and deservedly so, hopefully it'll encourage third parties to focus more on the system.

How many exclusive exclusives are coming for the Xbox? Aren't most also available on PC?

I often wonder if this similar subject is ever talked about on the hotpoint/bosch/hoover/zanussi forums?

The latest generation Samsung washing machines are far more powerful and economic than the crap that Hoover are pumping out, but Hoover fans are still buy those machines.

Maybe there is room in the market for so many washing machine manufacturers.

You are so wrong, abcd. Hotpoint uses eco 30 degree cleaning and it drys at 1,200 rpm. They deserve to overtake Samsung in sales and I feel they should get some kind of award. Zanussi are a distant third and should go cleaning-only.

I agree. They seem to have gotten themselves into a mess with their internal studios and you're right. I don't think Halo is as strong as it once was.

I had an Xbox and 360 and was all ready to go on an Xbox One but...i decided to wait and never felt like I wanted to jump in. As it goes, what with being older my gaming is more limited so the Switch is perfect for me, given its flexibility so I'm quite happy with that. If I had more time though, I'd definitely go for a PS4 over an Xbox One. The exclusive list is a lot more interesting and the 2018 list posted for the One just bores me really with the exception of Sea of Thieves.

But it's the quality of the garments that go in the machine. Any old tat ends up in a Hotpoint.

It's always high quality for Samsung machines.

Loved all three of those games, so I can't agree there. Certainly can't slate Microsoft for trying their hand at interesting new IP, even if they haven't sold particularly well.

That's total bobbins. Go back and play 360 now, the dash is a total lagfest.

I play on my 360 regularly mate, and yes while the dash is indeed janky it's still much better than the X1's frankly dreadful UI. Who ever gave the green light for the X1 dash needs a good, hard slap.

A non-issue for me. I've ended-up with more Xbox One exclusives than PlayStation 4 ones (13:10) and this was with PlayStation 4 being my main console this gen (this will soon change when I get an OX). I prefer the Xbox UI and "meta" gaming on Xbox (I find it works just fine and is quite swish - sounds like I maybe the only one on here that thinks that!).

Aside from Spider-Man, Xbox has the more interesting upcoming exclusives for me (shame that Crackdown has been pushed back) and I generally prefer their exclusives, too. The only thing that has kept the PS4 as my main console was the fact that it generally had the better multi plat games. And this is a key point. After all, PlayStation didn't have the best 2013 in terms of exclusives (or even 2014 & 2015 for that matter). Of course, 2017 has been a fantastic year for PlayStation exclusives but this wasn't the reason why it gained traction in the market. It was the cost and the power.

Maybe MS realises this. How many of us on here will take the plunge and get an OX and will be using it to play the new autumn and winter releases on?

Another small point, but MS seem to have by far the better implementation of HDR at present. It's transformative on Forza Horizon 3 and Gears 4 (which is a relatively mundane game but looks incredible in some of the later levels in HDR).

Your going to get an ox?
That's another thing - not even being able to sort our a proper abbreviated naming format. Microsoft should have stuck with Xbone - at least everybody knew where they were with that.

It's funny how the didn't call the Xbox 360 "Xbox 2" as they didn't want people thinking it was behind PS3 only to go and call their next console "Xbox ONE"

They then release an Xbox One S and Xbox One X, both of which sound very similar when spoken, the latter of which just abbreviates as "XBOX".

Apparently it was to be called "Xbox One Elite" but they'd already used that for an Elite controller/console bundle.

"Kinect" is the only one they got right, kinetic+connect, genius.

Let's see how much better these X games look first. Because so far it's Forza and bust. If you have few exclusives to show it off, that leaves everything on the multiformat devs to have something that is clearly a step up over the PS4 and Pro.

MS might be lucky that Sony appear to have bodged Gran Turismo.

Digital Foundry seem to think it certainly has been designed to boost games significantly, I suspect General Multiplats to look far better but Destiny 2, Battlefront 2 and Call of Duty to be same as PS4 Pro cos of 'reasons'.

It doesn't matter anyway because the Xbox One x is a terrible name. ;)

Hey man it's Friday! I was just having a little joke about the Ox but I should remember to put a winky face.

EDIT: Let me add that whilst 'It has no games' its big feature is that it will play every single multi-plat better and most last-gen games better.

Fable 4 needs to be in development and I think it is. No real evidence other than Phil saying there's a future in the franchise about a year ago and well, Rare hiring Lionhead staff, some of who are on the Sea of Thieves Team but they're a big company and can't be just doing Avatars and SoT's.... :shifty:
