Here's a sandwich pun for you Banjo:

I'll look out for it, had some great burger place recommendations from here (grazing shed etc).

I kind of favour the more simple sand which, but with top quality ingredients. So a simple cheese and onion baguette but with incredible extra mature farmhouse cheddar and good pickle, mmmm

Bombers' general style is that they'll have five meats prepped each day. Then depending on what you order it's a selection from the meat (standard being 1 meat, Big Bomber being 2 and the Atomic Bomb being 3) with any choice of the salad options to complement it. So sorta like Subway in the manner with which you construct a sandwich, but the quality of those meats is incredible. Here's an update from their Facebook page to give an example:

Can't eat crusty baguettes anymore thanks to my disability so all my sandwiches are on sliced bread, favourites include;

Tuna, mayonnaise and finely diced/grated gherkin.
Prawn & mayonnaise with a sprinkling of pimenton (smoked, dried sweet peppers - a bit like paprika but smokier).
Ham, cheese and fried egg on toasted bread.
Corned beef (tinned - strawberry float the haters) & Dijon mustard.
Cheese and red onion toastie.

Incidentally on the note of Cardiff still, New York Deli in the centre is a reliable stop for a tasty, well-filled sandwich. Got me through many a boring film screening.

Of course, as I haven't been in Cardiff consistently for almost two years now, who knows what has sprung up there. Bomber's is the one that really caught my eye, but I keep hearing from contacts about interesting places to check out when I go back. Though Glasgow has a rich sandwich scene. For the Glaswegians that have never been, Piece (two establishments in the West End, might have more) are great but for sheer convenience Riverhill Coffee right by Central Station is amazing; cracking pastries, lovely coffee and I had a fantastic chicken shwarma wrap there once.

There is this really nice sandwich place in Rome my gf took me to as she is living there at the moment.

It's "piadine" (which are Italian flatbreads) but only have 3 ingredients in each one. She had prosciutto, Stracciatella and rocket, and I had Bresaola, mozzarella and rocket.

Simple, but with fresh, quality ingredients they were yummy.
