Would you want people you know IRL to join GRcade?

I know there are some here who've invited friends and relatives to join the forum in the past, which is obviously great as we want to grow and survive, but I also know that there are plenty of people who'd never tell a soul about this place, for various reasons (wanting to keep it as 'their' online home; not wanting people to see their posts; not wanting people to know they've been talked about here; etc.)

So, how do you feel about it? How would you feel about friends and family from the real world joining GR and reading your post history?

It wouldnt bother me really, I have mentioned this place to a few people, I generally just say "the video game forum I read" rather than the name though. My "Larger" glass has prompted explanation a couple of times also.

Not a problem for me. I don't really have a different "me" here than in real life anyway so it wouldn't be any shock or anything for people to see my posts here compared to normal.

I wouldn't mind folk I know IRL joining GRcade. But hardly anyone I know IRL plays videogames :-(.

It's a games forum so I don't see it as any more embarrassing than saying I play games which I talk about with people at work all the time.

The stigma about being a gamer is pretty much gone now with only super snobby people having a problem with it and sod those guys.

Wouldn't bother me. Problem is, most of my friends just aren't interested in video games or politics. Such is life.

No. I have come to know people from GRcade in real life but I wouldn't introduce anyone I know outside of here to the forum.

I've given this place's URL as a site for wrestling knowledge to a friend before. In general I wouldn't advertise it but I don't really post anything here that I wouldn't say to friends anymore, so it's not really a big deal.

Also I basically use this place for all the gooseberry fool that's happening in my life so I can be more friendly and fun irl. It'd ruin the effect somewhat if everyone knew what a shell of a human I am in reality.

I only tell properly nerdy people about GRcade though. Some of my normie friends know I "help out with a gaming website."
