I also thought it was good. Not much different from the original, just added a few characters and small changes. The bit at the end was just a one off and will be different everytime as normal.

Also i like the bit with Homer getting hit by the car and pushed through the door.

I really quite enjoyed that. If the show were as good it'd be worth watching.

Isn't that sequence just a one off, in the same way that the live-action intro from a few years back was only used for an episode?

Tafdolphin wrote:the couch gag was a potentially good idea ruined by over-indulgence by the writers, which is the same reason why the Simpsons is so crap nowadays. A quote from a critic in it's Wiki page sums it up best for me; "The Simpsons has become a cartoon."

What a great way to some it up. The Simpsons is just that a cartoon. The ridiculous bit where Homer goes flying through a door and leaves his shape. There is now more bad than good episodes of the Simpson. Quite frankly, bar season 2 to 10, the show is dead to me

I've heard that Matt Groening had very little to do with The Simpsons' success and little to do with the show now anyway.

I noticed that the simpsons tv has been replaced with a flat screen too.

I thought the sequence was good, I enjoyed it.

Pretty good, i'd guess that the billboard that had Krusty on it changes every episode. Didn't like how Homer was hit by Marge's car, but a lot of other bits were really funny, like the Otto bit.

Pretty much what I said yesterday. It's quite depressing. :(

Well to me all he did was create the show. I bet he has little to do with the writing process, even in the earlier days.

The episode on channel 4 now just had an incredibly obvious and unfunny parody of The Phantom Menace which wouldn't have been funny 5 years ago.

Oh dear that was terribly long and un-neccassary. It was good until they got to the house!

That's irrelevant. They should put more effort into the episode rather that producking an overly long opening sequence.

It's like a couch, only I typed it whilst channel surfing at the same time.
