I appreciate this forum is probably completely the wrong demographic to survey, but has anyone had any experience with the ol' vasectomy? Asking for a friend...

If/when baby number 2 arrives I will be getting the snip. A guy I work with (same age) has had it and it wasn't a big deal for him, slight discomfort for a couple of weeks but nothing to worry about.

I need to sort myself out with some snipage soon. 3 kids is plenty thanks!

Friends who have had it done have generally said it's not much to worry about, but it's still a delicate subject y'know?

I'm considering it, we only have 1 little'un but me and wife are happy with that, we have always wanted just one, so to prevent any accidents that the wife has already said she doesn't think she would be able to get rid of if happened this seems like the best approach.

Cheers for the responses, guys. Me and the wife have got 4 kids between us, ranging from 5 to 19, so I think we're pretty much done. Seems very much like the sensible option but I'm very nervous about having it done. I mean, my friend is very nervous about having it done...

Ok. Speaking for experience (not of your specific issue, but something..um...neaby :P)

Don't be embarrassed.
Talk to people. You'd be surprised how many men have either had something done, or considered it - they'll all have lots of insigh/knowledge that could be helpful
There's no stigma, don't faff about "for a friend" nonsense.

Is it really a delicate/sensitive/embarrassing thing to talk about these days? I thought it was pretty humdrum and routine?

Personally my use of the word delicate was purely in terms of the physical connotations of the matter - I think it is a much more open topic for discussion these days.

Make sure they just snip the tube and don't chop the whole knob off

Genuine question - what happens to your load?

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

Stays put and is re-absorbed. Most of it isn't sperm anyway and that bit goes to your missus face or whatever, but the sperm stay behind.

Christ.

The vast majority of your batter is protein and other stuff. This comes from the prostate.

Only a small proportion is swimmers - which are blocked by the snip before the reach to the prostate to be part of the mix.

What you fire off will look (feel, taste etc) exactly the same.

They very small bit of swimmers that don't get to go on an outing with die and be reaborbed. (Like sperm regularly do anyway!)

Edit - WTF. How long did I have this page open to miss replies
