Completely passed me by that the sequel to one of my favourite games of all time is out this week! It's a first person puzzle game with a deep religious/philosophical story, challenging and varied puzzles, fantastic locations, and a haunting soundtrack. It's the most liminal game game I've played since the first Tomb Raider Ico, and in my opinion it's probably better than Portal 2, which is about as high praise as you can get for an FPS puzzler in my opinion!

Currently got a 10% pre-order discount on Steam so it's about £22 (not sure about other platforms) - BUT if you already own the first game you can buy the bundle which gives an additional discount to a shade over £20. And if you don't already own the first one then buy the bundle! Didn't you read what I just wrote?!

First one was beyond excellent. Very hyped for this one. I had to rush at the end because it was leaving Game Pass. I’ll be happy to pay for this and take it all at my own pace.

I think I want to go and finish playing the original in VR first, but very pleased this is getting a sequel.

The key thing to me is that they’ve not changed the writing team. Bracing for another Tom Jubert banger.

I don’t know how many people played the DLC for 1 but it had some absolutely incredible puzzle design, and a pretty funny story where all the AI from the main game that didn’t succeed humanity like the player did are left with nothing to do and decide to run a discussion forum as the system is shutting down.

It really is excellent. Not quite as good as you know what, but a really good puzzle game.

I AM THE WORD.

It was pretty much note perfect, with all the mistrust between them, before you set them free. I can't remember the details, but I recall liking the reveal of the meaning of ELOHIM.

I really liked the first game, I remember picking it up not long after getting my PS4. I remember the puzzles melting my brain though, and i'm not convinced I was even that far into the game.

Boo. Doesn’t unlock until 4pm. Also no option to buy it alone on Xbox. It only comes bundled with the first game. Still, I guess I’ll be glad to own that.

The REALLY clever part about the puzzles comes when you realise many of them can be completed in alternative ways to reach seemingly impossible to get stars. Some of them can be outright broken to fire lasers out in to other puzzles to acheive this. Very clever.

Oh god yes, there were so many possibilities. I tried some crazy things that ended up working.

I have the VR version of TP but never got round to playing it. My wife played the standard version earlier this year so I really should get around to it as it looks and sounds like something I would adore.

Reviews are trickling out. 89 on OpenCritic so far

Another strawberry floatin banger. This year has been a dream. So many sequels and spiritual successors to my all time top 5 and all of them held up.

Oh, man, the setup is so good. I love what it’s doing with the story. Just playing with a big smile on my face.

Just me then?

It’s rare these days that I sit and play a game for more than 90 minutes in one session, but on Friday I ended up playing almost 4 hours in the blink of an eye. Had two new gadgets introduced and they’re both excellent. Puzzle design is as tight as ever.

Outside the puzzles is very different. In terms of player interaction and narrative design it’s miles ahead of the first game but I don’t know if it’s going to be as affecting as my text chats with Milton yet.

I really want to play this, but I want to play the original first. The problem is I only kind of want to play the original.

Got it ready to start. Just had to be in the right kind of focused mood. Think that’s tonight.

Oh I'll be getting the game alright, just when I've cleared some of the games I'm currently playing.
