Well he's certainly started the second set strong.

Edit: VERY strong. 5-0!

You can say that again.

Looked like Murray was actually grinning before Berdych's second serve there.

This match could be monumental. I think I'll work from home today. :shifty:

EDIT: Bloody hell that's an impressive set from Murray.

Andy used to have this happen to him when he played the top players - he'd scrap and scrap and pull out all the stops and play at the absolute top of the game, to nick a narrow set, and then he'd have an absolute collapse of a period straight after and lose one without putting up a fight. The fact that he's now the one inflicting this kind of brutality, as opposed to receiving it, suggests to me that he's grown as a player, learnt from those experiences, and is still firmly in that top tier of player. Great to see and hopefully the momentum stays with him throughout the rest of the match now.

Berdych will come back - as he is doing in this game at 40-0 - and the next test for Murray is whether or not he can hold his serve and do damage against him while he's playing at his best. This looks like it could be a hold to love.

Double-double faulting isn't really the best. He's strawberry floated himself back to deuce. And broken! That was such a poor collapse by Berdych.

That's a really strong win, very happy for Murray there. He'll need to up the game a little bit if he wants a chance in the final, but this is a great start to the year for him and bodes really well for the rest of the season.

Cracking sporting Sunday coming up - Murray vs. Wawrinka/Djokovic, the Old FirmScottish League Cup semi-final and Super Bowl at night.

Murray's really surprised me this tournament, I wasn't sure if he was ever going to get his game back to what it was pre-surgery but it seems he has. He's not just close to his best, he pretty much is playing as well as he ever has.

I'd fancy him to take either Novak or Stan in the final now.
