Is this the final set? Is it best of three or first to three?

First to three.

In the women's game it's first to two.

Immaculate from Novak in those last two sets. Totally bossed him.

Federer's serve was not good enough today. Not against the best return in the game. Should really have been straight sets to be fair.

Yep. Feds was just a bit sloppy at points. Shame he couldn't match the heights of Friday consistently.

Novak bossed it, can't see Federer winning another major.

What if Djokovoc has to miss a Grand Slam through injury? Could you see Federer winning another then?

I think others would beat Feds on other surfaces.

I think if Cilic and Wawrinka can grab majors, its possible for Federer to win another major, but hes always going to be an outside shot.

To win another slam, he needs to desperately hang on to that no2 ranking so as to avoid Novak - and for Novak to be knocked out in the other semi ideally (and not have any tough 5-setters in the quarters or semis). 7 best of 5 matches in 2 weeks is getting really tough on him now I think; he served amazingly against Murray to keep the points very short, but it was a different Federer 2 days later IMO.

Actually, on a different day I think he'd probably lose in a SF to Murray next time in a slam if his serving is just a notch below what it was on Friday. Murray can wear him down and win if Fed's not serving lights-out and they're getting into too many rallies, as has been shown before.

I can see a possible scenario where he might win the US Open due to Murray-Djokovic slugging it out in a 5 hour 5-set marathon in the other semi and being too shagged out in the final. But he'd still need to find WimbySF serve-bot mode.

Murray was fabulous last night. First time he beat Novak since the Wimbledon final win.

Showed supreme mental and physical strength three hours of crazy hot conditions.

That could be a massive psychological turning point. I'm sure that Murray has been mentally losing these encounters before he even steps on the court.
